Congratulations to Bernie and his people, but...

We are fair and gracious and do send Bernie and his people congratulations for being motivated and organized for these caucuses. I have to say I do wish more Hillary supporters in those states had gone out to caucus, but there was little doubt the young single Bernie people were going to come out for these long caucus sessions in larger numbers. Remember, these are caucuses which require much more time and public voting which working people, older people, and parents with small kids have more difficultly attending. Remember that if these had been primaries, turnouts would have been much higher, more diverse, and many more Hillary supporters would have voted. And, Hillary still picked up some delegates. She remains ahead in the pledged delegate count by about 270. Over the next few weeks, the race returns to large diverse primary states like WI, NY, and PA where Hillary will most likely win and continue to build her insurmountable lead over Bernie. Bernie just had his best day, and still he is WAY behind in the delegate count.

For all intents and purposes, this race was over after Super Tuesday. If you look historically, nobody who has won as much as Hillary did on Super Tuesday has lost the nomination. Hillary will win the nomination. Bernie is too far behind. This has been the fact for several weeks now. I think Bernie wants to stay in it in order to have some pull on the Dem national platform and to make a presence at the convention. But he and his people know that without divine intervention he isn't going to be the nominee. The math just doesn't work for him.

So good for the Bernie folks and for Bernie. And now we go on to WI, NY, and PA.

4. Yes the fact that Sanders had a great night,...

...doesn't mean that his seat on the back bench is not still awaiting his return...soon!

I heard Hillary say "Did he win in the south?"

10. After 2016

Those who support Sanders - and the leaders of those who - have to understand that this election is step 1.
They have to realize that there must be many steps after this election.

Progressive legislation requires a progressive majority in the HoR and Senate; and, a progressive President.
That will take millions of votes in all 50 states.

Persistence, discipline and organization over the long term.

Enthusiasm is good over the short term. But, it will years.

Now wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.

Does one mean to tell us the Bernie bullies were celebrating last night?

<<<wasn't around last night, and just got in (8:00 a.m. central time).

So Methuselah won caucuses in three states, Alaska, Hawaii, and Washington.

Whoop-whoop-de-do.

Yip-yippety-yay.

Hip-hip-hooray, good for the old man.

According to the delegate numbers this morning, the old sourassed sourpuss won 58 delegates, Messalina Agrippina 35, and there's 10 uncommitted delegates.

All the delegates from Alaska and Hawaii have been apportioned; Washington's 118 aren't yet complete.

There's 2,383 delegates needed, to win the Democrat nomination.

There's 2,049 delegates still not selected.

Of those selected, the lady has 1,712, Methuselah 1,004, and there's 160 uncommitted.

The Bernie bullies ain't never going to catch up; they started too late.

I dunno why they didn't give up.....eight weeks ago; it was something never going to happen.

Her time was in 2008.  The Obamessiah bumped her off then.  Ol' Bernie is lining up to do the same thing this time.  There's a story on Drudge from The Hill where Sanders Claus now thinks that superdelegates are changing their alliances from HilLIARy to the 'gift-giver.'  It may happen yet . . .  :whistling:

  • Yes, really. Liberals DO disgust me.

I can just imagine, if rumplehair get the nomination, the first question:

Moderator: Mr. Sanders, how would you deal with ISIS?

Rumplehair: Well, first we have to tear down the big banks, and provide health coverage for all.

Audience: HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Look, I know that you're Establishment all the way (or have shown as much, so far), but the Republican Party is changing (maybe not for the good).  All that means is that the pendulum will keep swinging.  The two men most responsible for the rise of Donald Trump are Mitch McConnell and John Boehner--as Establishment as they come.  The Republican Party has to respond properly to the changes.  Dismissing Trump and his supporters is not the way to do it--all that does is to ensure permanent minority status.

I'm a Cruz supporter, and you're right.

I'm watching the party leaders/establishment carefully to see exactly what they do and how they react to all that is going on. They either do it the correct way, or they've lost me forever. I'm an economic and social conservative and it's becoming more and more apparent to me that no one in the leadership in gov't represents me. In fact, both the D's and the R's are pretty much telling Godly people to shove it. They keep doing that, they may end up winning elections, but in time they'll end up losing the country.

The D Party has been telling theologically conservative Christians to F-Off since Carter's loss. Some R movers-and-shakers started in 1988 to tell theologically conservative Christians to shut up and vote as they're told, but with indifferent success. If the R Party ever does tell theologically conservative Christians to F-Off that will could lead to significant changes - not necessarily good changes - in the US political scene.

Given how they handle things, it could happen before the end of this year. Millions upon millions of us will be watching.

And no "necessarily" about it: The changes will not be good. The USA will cease to exist as the Founders intended, and over time the country will end up in the dust-bin of history, of that I have no doubt. These libs somehow believe that will be an improvement over what we have, they want a "world community." They're in for a rude awakening.
