That's way too cute, Lauri. )

I was on the phone tonight (on break from work) with my mom, and she told me about two tiny fawns that were prancing around in our backyard this afternoon (which backs up to a nature preserve.)  She tried to film it, but the video camera was dead, and the charger was missing.  :bawl:

All that video represents is the butchering of a classic Keith Whitley song and the waste of a perfectly good shooting opportunity.

Actually it is a lot more sinister then that...

yep!

every summer around here, baby bears come wandering into yards around the lake and the newscasts never fail to say, "bear cubs and their moms, foraging for food in their shrinking habitat"

now, when you fly over this state, you see far more green open spaces than you see cities. the bears can run 200 miles in a day. if their habitat is shrinking, we got far bigger issues than a little global warming.

LOL!

I didn't do nothin' with it.  I haven't been home in over 6 months.  :(   They did find it late last night (figures, it only appears AFTER the deer vanished )

Besides, my mom knows exactly what to do to draw the deer back out of the woods. ;)  We have a compost pile in the backyard, and the reason they appeared before was because she had thrown some melon rinds out there.

Amen to that!  The two most forested states in the US are Maine and New Hampshire.  Now go back 200 years and tell me all that land was forest back then (hint: it wasn't--it was cleared for farming as evidenced by all the rock walls which in many cases still exist.)

i dont understand how environmentalism got turned upside down. we have so little of the earth's actual history, how can we possibly know what she is capable of? when mankind has been recording her ups and downs for a about 5000 years, then maybe we can see patterns easier. but weather is not predictable beyond a certain aspect. you can see where its headed, but ten years from now? BS!

people in the 50s and 60s thought this planet would be uninhabitable by the year 2000.. and that we'd be living in space. HA! not only is our air cleaner, our gasoline burns cleaner, we do a lot of things better now and we take care of the spills and the other natural disasters.

by industrial age standards, the world is a lot healthier now than back then.

except for China who doesnt yet understand that air is good for living things..
