disturb you or disappoint you, this is one of those. I post one or two a day, on average.

I'd like to once again remind people that this primary season will end with the nomination of a Democrat for President. As a lifelong Democrat, I'll be voting in November for that nominee. I guarantee it. I haven't missed an election since 1966. I was in the USAF and my absentee ballot didn't get home in time.

I invite all Democrats to do the same. I invite all DUer's to join me at the polling place to vote for each and every Democrat on the ballot. That's not a loyalty oath I'm asking for. It's an invitation to join me in doing that.

I first got involved in politics in 1960 as a sophomore in High School. I campaigned for JFK for President in my own community. I handed out flyers, knocked on doors, and generally made a nuisance of myself. When I considered who was running against him, I realized that a Democrat would be a better choice for President.

In every ensuing presidential election year, I have done the same thing for the Democratic nominee. As years went by, I learned more about what happens when Republicans are in control of our government, both state and federal. I watched Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes set us back each time they were in office. That increased my resolve to support the Democratic nominee in every election and for every office. I'm still doing that, and will continue as long as I am able.

Every four years, I invite people to go to the polls and vote for Democratic candidates for every office on the ballot, including the President. I'm still handing out flyers and knocking on doors. I don't always agree with everything about those individual candidates, but I retain my belief that we do better with Democrats in office.

So, I'm not asking for anyone's "loyalty oath." I don't need any oaths from anyone. I'm simply inviting people to go to the polls this November and vote for the Democrat. Over 55 years have gone by since I first started inviting people to do that. I'm not going to stop now.

You don't need to tell me how you will vote. That's your decision, and I wouldn't dream of trying to argue with you. I do hope you'll accept my invitation, though, but you needn't RSVP. I'm not throwing a party. I'm supporting the candidates of a party. I find that party much more rewarding than the other one being held that day.

I hope to see you at the polling place in November. I hope you'll come to that party.
