The vast majority of white Bernie supporters didnt care about the Black Lives Matter movement when it started and many openly criticized them when BLM confronted Bernie.

Now that the movement is confronting Hillary, they have all this respect and concern for BLM and the people in it.

Bullshit.

White people of both political persuasions dont spend much time, if any, caring about POC unless it is part of some bigger issue.

So just admit up front the reason so much energy is spent around here on this angle of the campaign is because white Bernie supporters are frustrated with Black people who arent voting for Bernie and they want to educate them into doing so.

Be honest about it and who knows, you might get somewhere.


p.s. I have a selfish reason for this, I actually want Black people to vote for Bernie, but I know the way some go about that is making it worse, not better. I would actually like him to ****ing win, not lose. Imagine that

I am very supportive of BLM and have one more than one occasion tried to pump the brakes for my fellow Bernie supporters.

If as an individual I'm going about it wrong I'm open to criticism.

While I advocate for Bernie on this site, I don't do it in an attempt to change anyone's mind.

I have not been partaking of the Hillary/Bernie wars on this site so I won't address that part. But I do take issue with the sentence "White people of both political persuasions..." because it is too much of a broad brush statement.

There are white people who came up during the civil rights era who have the concerns for "justice for all" (and by that I mean racial equality) embedded in their DNA. In case you are younger you should know that it was an intense time for learning, listening and acting upon our beliefs for justice. Those experiences do not evaporate but become part of who we are for our lifetime.
I am probably not explaining this very well but I hope none of us define others based on the color of their skin - no matter the color.

Dude, please. DU doesn't opine on ANYTHING unless the race of the subject is identified. You people epitomize defining others on the color of their skin.

Seriously, why should whites give one shit about blacks, when blacks don't care about their own people.  Millions o f black babies have been killed by abortion, something highly fought for and protected by white liberals.

Thousands more are killed by other black people, but their deaths don't make the news. Why? It doesn't fit the white political agenda of racism.

Liberals talk a good game, but once the votes are cast they don't give a shit about you black people.  Bernie has the right idea, at least. More handouts won't solve the problem, though. Jobs are what is needed. Unfortunately, the majority of democratic policies are also very unfriendly to job creation.

I'm not a Bernie supporter and I still don't care about BLM. When they start being concerned about a murders and not just when cops are the shooters of blacks then I'll care... maybe.

Surprisingly, I think rr1's close to a truth I wish black D voters realized: most D Party leaders' "caring" about blacks goes on a multi-year hold when they exit the voting poling place.

I can't believe I'm sort of agreeing with rr1 on something! I'll be horrified for at least another second or two!

     Randy Shaw of Eureka, CA, is simply conflicted. He wants to be liked by black people, but most of the support Hillary. He supports Sanders, however, so each day is spent shuttling between the two. In the meanwhile, no one cares and no one likes him, and by his own admission, his son is a junkie. His son suffers from the affliction of being not black, however, so Randy sees little value in him.

     I really wonder if Randy's family knows what a buffoon he is.
