Why I didn't watch the Democratic Debate

I don't claim to speak for anyone but myself, but I've no doubt others feel as I do. I honestly didn't care.

It wasn't because the debate was buried on a Saturday night. It wasn't because of football game or a movie. I simply felt I'd heard everything of substance the two real contenders and O'Malley had to say. As a political junkie, a liberal/progressive one at that, I just figured I'd heard Hillary and Bernie repeat their stump speeches over and over. I know what each one stands for, and I feel there are serious, very real, differences between the two.

Unfortunately, while Mr. O'Malley could be a strong contender, he does not have the backing of The Machine, nor does he have the overall support to make him a threat to Hillary's ultimate nomination.

Then there is the fact that I knew that on the off chance one of the candidates did say something noteworthy I'd hear/see it online within minutes of its utterance.

Unlike the GOP Side Show, the Democrats have no surprises. They've been pretty much open books and consistent in their messaging. Well, Hillary's finger in the wind notwithstanding. Even then, I know whatever the issue is, regardless of any position she's previously held, she'll go with what Bernie and popular opinion say. Her Wall Street/9-11 remark was a surprise only because she said it out loud.

This is not, I repeat not an anti-anyone/pro-anyone post. Just calling it as I see it. I'll be voting for the Democratic nominee.

At least the GOP Side Shows have been entertaining in a train wreck full of professional wrestling sort of way. Even knowing their maniacal, extremist views, they're always good for a laugh. In that horror B-movie kind of way.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to do whatever I can to attempt to shine light on the Right Wing disaster which will befall this nation if any one of them is elected. Thanksgiving with the in-laws down South ought to be a hoot. But I don't really feel Clinton or Sanders have anything new to tell me. And O'Malley is simply never going to be allowed time in the media spotlight. They've already made their decisions at the editorial board meetings.

If you are voting for the dem next November why post this whine fest?

What a passive-aggressive little twat. He bags on the Hillarenis, then says he'll vote for her anyway.

Hmmmm.

<<<was wondering where Atman was spending Thanksgiving this year; he usually comes back with some entertaining Thanksgiving stories.

As for his in-laws, he describes them as "fundies."

But one has to keep in mind that to Atman, a "fundie" is someone who says Grace once a year, over the Thanksgiving Turkey, and goes to church once a year, usually at Easter.

To Atman, that's a "fundie.'
