A Georgia state trooper delayed telling four children of their parents' tragic death so as not to ruin their treasured memories of Halloween.

Iraq army veteran Donald Howard, 33, and stay-at-home mother Crystal Howard, 30, died when their SUV skidded off the wet road and hit a tree in Broughton Road, Newton County on October 31.

The married couple had just popped to the local store to get face paint for their children and had been less than a quarter of a mile from home where the youngsters were waiting when the horrific car crash occurred.

Very heart breaking story.  :( :bawl:
