Why are right-wing political views on gun violence allowed on DU?

I just don't understand the continued tolerance of political views that are held by no real Democratic politicians of importance to be continually advanced on DU. Isn't Discussionist supposed to be for that? Can we get Donald Trump to build a wall? I hear he's a real good builder, or so he claims. If your reaction to gun violence is to continually argue for the greatness and perpetuation of guns, you're not a Democrat or a friend of Democrats. You might as well belong to some right-wing party dedicated to the 2nd amendment, like the Republicans, no questioning of guns in society with those clowns.

5. Every time a jury is called on a gun post, we are polling the membership...

...on what views on guns should be permitted on DU.

6. I suspect the vast majority of DU doesn't understand your position

I think they imagine that Admin and MIRT has moderation of extreme views under control. They also have observed more than a decade of tolerance and changing moderation, if it was really confined to the Gungeon there wouldn't be an issue. Every time there's a mass shooting that DUers want to discuss since its major news, they have to deal with those who were once confined to the Gungeon.

I would advocate for more specific instructions to the jury than currently provided. If the Jury System is intended to uphold the Terms of Service and to meet those standards, rather than "this post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate" the system would work better if they were informed upfront of that fact.

Thank you for your consideration of this question, I'm sure we will be considering it over and over again given the disturbing level of gun violence in this country. I sincerely do wish you would reconsider this position, it's not a new issue by any means, until the next tragedy...

So supporting the 2nd Amendment is an "extreme view"?

How dare Skinner allow any viewpoint except total elimination of individual liberty, and the imposition of totalitarian State control.

How dare he! Damn his eyes!

Sooooo. does Skinner live in one of those walled in gated communities where the guards have guns?
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
