Iran bars Barenboim, thwarting Tehran concert plan

Iran has barred famed conductor Daniel Barenboim from entering the Islamic republic because of his Israeli citizenship, thwarting his plan to lead a performance in Tehran, media reported Sunday.

Barenboim, the 72-year-old general music director of the Berlin State Opera House, said Thursday he was in talks with Iran about a concert, in what would have been a major example of cultural diplomacy.

But an Iranian culture ministry spokesman, Hossein Noushabadi, said an investigation meant Barenboim could not enter the country for "security reasons", though the Berlin orchestra was welcome.

"We have no problem with the German orchestra coming to Iran, but we are opposed to the person leading that group," Noushabadi said, quoted by news agency ISNA.

"He has multiple nationalities and one of them is Israeli. For security reasons and to prevent issues following the entry of certain people into Iran, we stopped it."

Barenboim also holds Argentinian and Palestinian citizenship.

The irony is that Barenboim has been an outspoken critic of Israeli policies in the occupied territories that he was even awarded an honorary Palestinian citizenship. He also organized multinationals concert in Gaza City and in Ramallah in the West Bank.

We know from years on DU that Iran is the most peace-loving country on Earth, and Farsi is the easiest to mistranslate. In fact, it's such a treacherous language to translate that most times its meaning is exactly reversed. From DU, I know this.

But you'd think even DU would have a few choice words when a country about to have fresh shipments of Gucci and BMW thanks to Lord Zero won't, you know, give a little.

What is even more hysterical is that a JEWISH RABBI, Ka'ab Al-Ahbar, a fake convert to Islam, told Caliph Omar ibn al Khatta that the myth of Muhammed's Ascension to Heaven (Isra and Mi'raj), took place at the site of the Second Jewish Temple destroyed by the Romans.
In the hopes that the stupid Arabs would rebuild the Jewish Temple for them -- which the Jews would take back after completion, the Jew Ka'ab took the Caliph to the Temple Mount and convinced him to build a mosque there.
Half of Islam, most especially the Shia and the Wahabi Sunni, know for a fact that the Jewish Rabbi took Caliph Omar for a ride, and that the Muslim traditions relied 100% on the Jewish Rabbi's misrepresentations.
The ultimate joke the Jewish Rabbi had on the Muslim, was that to this date, Muslim kiss Jewish Holy Ground every time they pray. That's typical Jewish humor that only a Jewish Rabbi could pull off.
But admitting to having been duped by a Jewish Rabbi pretending to be a convert, and an Arab Pedophile pretending to be a prophet, is clearly a hard pill to swallow.
It's even more ironical that Muslim would kiss Jewish Holy Ground FIVE TIMES A DAY --
No wonder Jews worldwide (with the exception of a few) have not insisted that the Al-Aqsa be torn down. Jews know the Lord will be with them, with or without access to the Temple --
but Muslim kissing Jewish Holy Ground 5 times a day is just too priceless -- particularly when Muslim insist on it to point of waging war.
