MLK On Democratic Socialism:

“There must be a better distribution of wealth and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism.” -- Martin Luther King, Jr

You can't talk about solving the economic problem of the Negro without talking about billions of dollars. You can't talk about ending the slums without first saying profit must be taken out of slums. You're really tampering and getting on dangerous ground because you are messing with folk then. You are messing with captains of industry.... Now this means that we are treading in difficult water, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong... with capitalism.... There must be a better distribution of wealth and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism". ~ Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Frogmore, S.C. November 14, 1966. Speech in front of his staff.

This speech was made two years after LBJ had giving the black community "democratic socialism" but the worst effects where yet to come and to this day not only has the black community not recovered but it has eroded the moral values of the rest of the country.

I think the USA ought to do this:

Pass a tax on whitey funding a 3 trillion dollar bond. When the 3 trillion bond has been paid back the tax expires. Currently there are about 38 million that identify as full black. Divide that into 3 trillion, comes out to about 79 grand per black. Give it to them with the law stating that they can never, ever get any more money from the USA period and they must emigrate back to Africa, renouncing their US citizenship. $79,000 US dollars would give them a very comfortable life in Africa. If they refuse the offer, then they can never receive welfare from the US again. Productive black citizens that have paid income taxes, SS and medicare would be exempt of course.

I bet they would jump at the chance. It is, after all, what they want. So why not give it to them? The more educated would, of course turn it down and I have no problem with that.  We could probably recoup the savings in welfare, prisons, etc in less than 10 years. All that money should be earmarked to paying off the bond.

Does that make me racist? I don't see how it does. I am just proposing giving them what they want. How is that racist?  At the very least if the proposal was made it would shut them the hell up that they are owed money.

^Productive black citizens, i.e. conservative blacks.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

You suspect some of his staff is fraudulently offering these comments and falsely attributing them to MLK ?
I wouldn't put it past them.

A lot of liberal sites have that quote.

Here's one not so liberal one. http://thoughtsonliberty.com/why-libertarians-should-stop-calling-martin-luther-king-jr-a-libertarian

It would seem to me that after his assassination, he became their talisman for every single destructive idea they could conjure.  It does surprise me that, if true, it was never uttered once in public.  Convenient, too.

Just read that.  The article doesn't seem to jive with his public speeches.  Then again, hidden agendas and all.  Of course, that site projects on Libertarians the very things LIbEralS do habitually.
