4th Black MSNBC host target of IRS investigation


Touré Neblett, co-host of MSNBC's The Cycle, is the latest network host to be under scrutiny for owing thousands in taxes.

According to public records reviewed by National Review, Neblett's debt currently stands at over $59,000. A state tax warrant of $46,862.68 was issued to the host and his wife in September 2013, followed by an additional warrant for $12,849.87 six months later. Neblett formerly served as a contributor for The Dylan Ratigan Show before it was canceled by the network in 2012.

He joins three other MSNBC hosts who have also reportedly been issued tax warrants or liens, including Joy Ann-Reid, Melissa Harris-Perry and Al Sharpton.

National Review reports that the state of New York filed a tax warrant against Reid, who has been a contributor for the network since 2011, and her husband for the amount of $4,948.15 last month. Reid hosted The Reid Report for a full year — from February 2014 until its early cancelation in February 2015.

Just last week, the Winston-Salem Journal also reported that Harris-Perry, who has hosted the political commentary program Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC since 2012, and husband James Perry owed $70,000 in delinquent taxes ($21,721 of which was paid off on Tax Day, Harris-Perry told the newspaper).

Stanley Kirk Burrell (MC Hammer), Sinbad, Lauryn Hill, Lionel Richie, Ja Rule, Westley Snipes, Chris Tucker, Swizz Beatz, Dwayne "Lil Wayne" Carter, Darryl Strawberry, Forest Whitaker, Ann-Reid, Melissa Harris-Perry, Al Sharpton and Dionne Warwick are just some of the many black activists and entertainers targeted by the agency.

How can all those black public figures all be tax cheats? What about the thousands of white tax cheats whose names we probably know well? Sounds like a program to silence them through the only meme that riles up a majority of citizens... tax cheating. We rally against the 1%ers and so I'm guessing this is how they intend to fight back? That and eliminating all the news sources by using pay walls and truncating service areas and "owning" what we can hear and see.

Got a friend who's wife works in the tax income field. The bros and sistahs are very upset that their refund checks aren't as large as the once were.....and those that owe a few dollars are going berserk. :lmao:

Even if this were true (singling out blacks), didn't the DUmmies think it was all fine and good when the IRS was/IS going after the Tea Party groups and other conservative groups?  Seems I recall they thought that was just fine and dandy.

Ucky-ducky ... except for Sharp Al, those various people are not household names (the rapper(s) probably file - if they file at all - under their "real" names, not their stage names). So ........ where is the W/B/H/A/etc. check-off box on Form 1040 that lets IRS computers single out blacks?

That said, the irony of wealthy MSM people advocating taxing the @$% out of wealthy people but not paying the taxes they owe is delicious ... and utterly predictable.

Excellent professional Tax paying tip:  When filling out your paperwork, make sure to check the "White Devil" box on every form.  It's a sure fire way not to get an audit and to pay the less expensive whitey percentage.
