"Bronies" seem, at this distance (with no desire to get closer), to be in the realms of weird fan-dom (weirder than Trekkers or "Rocky Horror Picture Show" fans) and arrested or diverted maturation.

"Furries" seem to be in the realm of sexual fetishism. (And I have even less desire to get closer to them!)
