Danish media say several shots have been fired at a cafe in Copenhagen where a meeting about freedom of speech was being held, organized by Swedish artist Lars Vilks, who has faced numerous threats for caricaturing the Prophet Muhammad in 2007.

Looks like another terrorist attack.

The gunman killed by Copenhagen police after two deadly shootings had a background in criminal gangs, authorities said Sunday.

Copenhagen police said the 22-year-old man was born in Denmark and had a criminal record, including violence and weapons offenses.  They didn't release his name.

A Danish radio station said the gunman was let out of prison two weeks before the attack, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Concur, and, IMO, there's a section missing from this picture. How does a generic violent street thugs decide to attack a free speech meeting organized by a critic of Islam? An answer is easily inferrable - not without possibility of being wrong - but there's more to this story that has not been made public.

Danish authorities haven’t been quick to give out the details of yesterday’s dual attack in Copenhagan, but so far it appears that it is mirroring the recent Paris terrorism but with a smaller death total—two dead, plus several police and/or guards wounded—and a single perpetrator. As in Paris, it featured a free speech target that had published cartoons of Mohammed, as well as a Jewish target, and a killer who had been previously known to authorities.

For what was he known? The information released is rather general, but you probably wouldn’t lose a lot of money if you guessed it might have some connection with Islamic extremist terrorist activity, although it’s also possible that he’s a criminal recently recruited to the cause of terrorism:
