'Annie' Target Ads Criticized For Using Whites Instead Of Quvenzhané Wallis

 

There is a new re-make of the musical Annie staring an all black cast because **** YOU.
However- the big news story is that the leftist bulk store TARGET did an ad featuring a white girl.

OMG!!!!!

 

A rep for Target responded via New York magazine: At Target, we appreciate the opportunity to hear from our guests. We're proud of our Annie for Target collection, which was inspired by the recently released remake of the family classic and designed by the film’s costume designer...With regard to the marketing of the collection, girls from a variety of backgrounds were featured within the campaign, reflecting that anyone can embody the spirit and character of Annie.

Yes... there are all races of little girls wearing the new line in the ads...

2. I think the objection is that the single girl featured is white. the other ads all have a black girl

Could it be that maybe there are more stores in areas where the demographics of the customers are more white than black? Hmmm?

After reading the Daily Mail article and the poorly-spelled and grammatically-incorrect petition, neither one says if the producers allowed Target to use official movie photography for their advertisements.  Without that information, it just sounds like another single-issue zealot throwing a fit because she doesn't have enough information to come to a logical conclusion and decides to behave like an asshole instead of doing due diligence before crying and bitching about some minor inconvenience.

You know what I hate? I hate ads that you can see that they are trying to appease EVERYONE.  You will have a white, black, asian, latino in the ad.  Sometimes it gets so crowded when only one person could be used.  Advertising is used to get people to buy your product.  If Target wants to use a white Annie which was the original then let them and if that alienates the blacks and asians then so be it.  Let this private entity worry about their bottom line. Geez.

When I drive through the really bad sections of my city I notice that there are billboards for Newport/Salem cigarettes and it's always a black person in the ad. That doesn't offend me.  Why are people always trying to be offended?

The only places where it's permissible to avoid forced, bogus "diversity"  on TV are the NBA and the NHL.

In basketball, if you see white guys on the floor you know it's garbage time.

In hockey, if you see more than one black guy on the ice, or any black guys in the crowd, there's something wrong with your TV.

Everything is done by committee. They have to pander to everyone. Truth is, you cannot please everyone and never will.

The NBA all time assist leader helped the NBA 2nd all time scorer to his place in the NBA hall of fame was John Stockton. He is as ghostly white as any caucasion can be. Unless I am sorely mistaken, Rick Barry is the MBA all time free throw percentage leader. He was also as white as a ghost. Not that their color matters.

Hmmm. There are only two or three REAL blacks at DU. Everyone else is lily white.
Of course they are 10 or 20 who lie about being black.
