A thread of support for Mayor Bill de Blasio
The world can see, plain as day, what is happening: de Blasio is facing an insurrection by NYC's police department because he wants all of that force to obey the law, and to act in a manner that civil society demands.
When the keepers of law and order permit wanton lawlessness within their own ranks, things can only end terribly. Let us hope that Mayor de Blasio has the wisdom, strength and courage necessary to win this battle; if he loses, Democracy loses.

2. I proudly voted for and campaigned for Bill!
Don't let the NYPD know that.

12. They wouldn't let me vote for Bill since I live in Ohio. Dang it!
Since when did that stop dems?

5. I agree.
The union president escalated a bad situation and is blaming de Blasio for the bad behavior of the cops. If there is one true thing every cop should know is NEVER ESCALATE an already tense situation.
Cop union thrown under the liberal bus.

6. They really let the mask drop with this one.
It looks really bad on the NYPD from here. I have yet to see anything that de Blasio said or did that would justify such a stunning display of disrespect.
Hate to say it, but somebody would be in for some petty retribution if it were me. (And I *know* that isn't right.)
Dummie threatening to kill a cop?

I respect police officers but I do not feel that they should have almost unlimited power.

9. Mayor DeBlasio supports good cops, not cops who repeatedly commit crimes, kill innocent people,
and shake down small local businesses. Bad cops act like the mafia.
So the two cops that got murdered were shaking down businesses?

14. Damn straight. DiBlasio is the best mayor NYC has had since LaGuardia n/t.
I don't know and I don't care. Would not bother me if NYC burned to the ground.

22. Much respect
Glad New Yorkers agree too. I think the residents of NY like the NYPD as much as Angelinos like the LAPD.

31. The cops have picked a fight with the wrong mayor
They have? 45,000 cops, add in extended family and you are probably talking about 150,000 folks. Yep. De Blasio gonna take 'em all down.

The rest is all posts supporting De Blasio. I would not want to live in NYC right now.
