Motel Suck. Just a little.

It's a 'Quality Inn' In Bulls Gap, TN.
We've stayed here when it was a Best Western, and it was fine.
Last time we stayed it was transitioning to a Quality Inn.
Some remodeling going on, but OK.

The room is nice.
Fridge, micro, coffee, etc.
But the TV channel program shows many channels that aren't there any more.
Minimal.
No movies.

I called the front desk.
"I'm not getting all the channels you show on your list."
"Yeah."
"Why not?"
"They changed it."
"So that's it?"
"Yeah."

OK, it's a small thing. We're warm and dry.
But it pisses me off.

Oh yeah, their internet server puts banner ads on top of every page I load.
There's one there now.
Even with my star on DU.
That really sucks.

Although completely unintentional, this post has more of a poetic feel to it than any of Calpig's plops.

1. Perhaps you can load AdBlockPlus while you're there, my dear trof...

I use it on Facebook and it works wonderfully. I don't think it costs anything either, but I could be wrong about that.

I'm sorry!

3. My motel has HBO but it isn't listed.

I'm not sure if they know or not.

7. annoying for sure

What I hate is the "high speed internet" that turns out to be, oh, maybe 1 megabit per second, at best. Of course you get charged like $30 a day for it too.

The stevenumbers primitive really hates it when he is reduced to watching cartoon porn in 240p, or worse yet, abstaining from giving his palm a vigorous workout for a whole evening.

12. Don't feel bad, old fella.

I've been on a TDY sort of situation up in Pontiac since before T-Giving. I'll have spent Thanksgiving and Christmas and possibly New Years in a Fairfield in Pontiac.

Been up here driving down to Atlanta and back 3 times a week on and off since late May - probably 22 weeks worth by now.

I can sympathize re: the internet. They got ya, they know they got ya and they are going to take advantage of it!

You would think they would be grateful they aren't out on the street where they belong.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Granted, I don't have kids.  But who really cares about the cable channels when staying at a hotel?  Usually near the bottom of my concerns when traveling.

Same here.  My biggest concern is whether the place I'm staying at has a pool, so I can swim laps.  Aside from that, I'm not at all concerned with the television.

Lousy 1%er bitch. She doesn't even know if a program she is using is free , costs money or is a monthly charge on her credit card.

The only place we have stayed in a hotel with the kids was Disney World...and considering our TV at home is almost always on Disney or Disney Jr., we had very little need to see what else they offered. (Quite a bit, actually.) I think if we were to go somewhere non-Disney with the kids, we'd probably want to make sure they had at least something kid-friendly, or at least good wi-fi so the kids could watch on their iPads. But honestly, with kids as young as mine, time spent in a hotel room is minimal; as long as it's clean and there's a place for everyone to sleep, we're good.

The primitives need to tell us when they're in our respective neighborhoods. I would have gladly met the trof primitives somewhere and punched their lights out. TV would have been a secondary concern.

Condolences.

I don't read DU often, but whenever I spent time there, I always check out the state forums.

Every place I have stayed over the last couple 3 years it was free.  They were pretty mainstream places like days inn and hampton.

Dumbass wants the amenities of a 400.00/night hotel while only paying 40.00/night.

There is a shock. :whatever:

Strangely, though, it's the 400/night downtown luxury joints that charge for parking and nick you for $10-$15 a night for wi-fi.

That stuff is always free at fleabag motels, but you may be knifed by an urban democrat in the parking lot.
