I was thinking this morning ...

about all the efforts at voter suppression.

It's a wonder that anyone would support the present day gop. Doing so, would speak very badly about the supporter, as he/she would have to reject all sense of everyday, schoolyard fairness.

Take an everyday scenario that we have all experienced at one time or another ... Imagine the reaction of any kid, on any schoolyard, in America. There is one kid on one team that announces at the beginning of the game that he/she planned to cheat. As it becomes clear that the cheater is doing exactly that, how long do you imagine the majority of his/her teammates would continue to play, despite being on the winning side ... how many kids from either side would be eager to have him/her on their team for the next game; or even play, knowing that he/she was going to plan.

But I guess kids have so much to (un)learn.

Okay, who's got that picture of those black dudes with firearms "guarding" that one precinct in Philadelphia some years ago, trying to ensure that only voters for their man got in?

1. The typical Republican voter thinks their vote would never be suppressed so the issue doesn't matter

They won't care until it affects them personally.

2. Seen how schools have started winding up in cheating scandals?

From grade school up, the emphasis has become a focus on competitiveness and 'scoring well' on standardized testing, to the point that even educators have been warped into supporting cheating that allows schools not to lose funding.

Children are being trained in the RW belief that 'winning' matters more than how you win. That ends justify the means.

As the child is bent, so will the adult be. And the right has been working for decades to bend children to their ideology.

Yeah, right, that's exactly what we've been doing.

3. The people I know who vote Republican do so because they have been indoctrinated into believing that

is the party with moral character. The candidates make such a big deal out of their faith and the whole conservative culture is based on so-called Christian principles' that to vote for a liberal candidate would be tantamount to blasphemy. It may be different elsewhere, but here in the Bible belt, this seems to be a prevalent attitude.

There is a lot more documented voter fraud then their voter suppression canard.
