White House press secretary Josh Earnest is not sure if President Barack Obama is aware of the stir caused yesterday when he saluted Marines at the base of Marine One while concurrently holding his coffee cup.

“I don’t know. I haven’t talked to him about it,” Earnest told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell when asked if the president was aware of the controversy at hand.

It seems like the press secretary never talks to Obama about anything.  They should ask Lying Earnest what games Obama watched. I bet he would know that.

He is a liar in all Earnestness.

It wasn't done for the first two hundred years of the republic, until President Reagan began doing it in 1981.

I think President Reagan did it out of respect, but also to emphasize that there was a very new and different sheriff in town

A salute by someone like Clinton or the jug-eared muslim, men who have no respect for the military, is so hypocritical it's sort of insulting.

I would add too that neither Clinton or Obama served in the military...hence the reason they don't understand the protocol and the reason taht CLinton had to be taught to salute after he became President.

Reagan and both Bush's were comissioned officers...they understood the importance of returning the salute and more importantly knew how to salute.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

What gets me more than his half assed salute is the fact that he continues to mispronounce 'Corpsman'. Not only does it show him as ignorant on the English language, but these are the very people that provide his medical care whenever he sprains an eyelash. :argh:

Then again maybe I am a little sensitive that he continues to insult one of the most decorated group of people in the military of which I am a proud member.

At least he's always careful in how he pronounces "PAWK-e-STAWN".

I stopped listening to him.  Does he really continue to pronounce it corpse-man?  You'd think someone would have told him.

Karin, he thinks he's the smartest individual in the room, remember?  His sheer arrogance would prevent him from changing.
