Israel withdrew from Gaza as part of a peace agreement in 2005. At great political expense, Israel also withdrew the settlers. This was part of a peace deal. Gaza was no longer occupied, they were free to determine their own destiny.
Israel fulfilled its end of the deal. But peace takes two willing partners. In exchange for withdrawal, the palestinians loaded up on missiles and started firing at civilian areas of Israel, Then in 2006, the palestinians freely ELECTED Hamas to rule Gaza. Hamas celebrated victory my murdering all the other political parties and launching eternal war with Israel.
Terms of office have come and gone. No new elections have occurred since 2006. Any palistinian who speaks out is labeled an Israeli collaborator and executed without a trial.
Hamas has a political arm that indoctrinates the children to be terrorists and it also sucks billions out of gullible Europeans. These billions are not invested in the economy, but spent on munitions. Any cease fire is merely to restock their missiles.
Hamas is great at using civilians as human shields. They like to launch missiles from a school roof and forbid the children from running for their lives. In fact Hamas will shoot palestinains who don't want to be human shields.
Bottom line: You have three parties involved in this war.
Israel. Civilized, but after 60 years of non-stop terror they have had enough.
Gaza: Savages, animals and murderers. They have broken every cease fire and agreement they signed.
Euro-weenies: They say nothing when Jews get killed, but the moment Israel starts to defend herself, they shout stop! You're killing too many people. One of them even wrote an op-ed saying Iron Dome missile defense gave Israel an unfair advantage. Obama and Democrats not up for reelection are in this camp.
