How faery magic worked for me today!
Well, I had a dentist appointment this afternoon and had to drive into town fifteen miles away. When I do, I try to go shopping at the same time to save gas. So I went to Barnes and Noble, three blocks from my dentist, after my appointment. I have been looking for a book on spinning (I want to take it up) to no avail for a couple of months now. I went through the shelves of crocheting, knitting, weaving and quilting but couldn't find one on spinning and I went through every book. In exasperation I went to another part of the store and silently asked the weaving and needlework faeries that if there is a book on spinning to lead me to it when I went back to that section one more time as I didn't know when I could come back to town. So I went back and started going through the books when I spotted a book on spinning that had been placed face up on top of the spined books. It was the only one too. I will be giving the faeries a little gift in my garden in thanks.

Not one post on that thread asking "wtf?"

Wonder what happen if the same thread had been posted but instead it was a prayer to God and an answer.

How many posts of hatred and bile would that have resulted in.

1. Oh, how very lovely! I love the fairies. I've never had the pleasure of...

having any direct interactions with them, but I greatly appreciate what they do for the world and for humanity.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful story with us, Cleita.

You know, after seeing the title of this thread when it was first brought over by bijou I didn't really read it because I figured it was a story about a homosexual illusionist or something. I should have known better.

I was talking to my grandmother the other day. She's 90 but sharp as a tack. Anyway, she was meeting her friend Henrietta for lunch. Dial-A-Ride dropped her off at the mall entrance so she went into the bookstore to wait for her friend. My cousin's daughter is having a baby and Nana crochets all new babies in the family an afghan. Well, she happened upon a book about spinning laying on top of the other books on the shelf. Her family used to spin their own wool when she was a little girl. Her mom taught all the girls how to spin and she was pleasantly surprised to see people still interested. She found a book on baby afghans and thought she'd sit down and leaf through the spinning book while waiting for her friend. When Henrietta arrived Nana put the book back where she found it. Nana said, "Next thing you know there's this chubby, unkempt woman in one of those hippie skirts, jumping up and down with the spinning book in her hand. She must have been a lesbian because she kept thanking the fairy gods for helping her find the book...I guess gays have their own gods now...maybe I should get out more. All I could think is it's a good thing I hadn't put back a book about quilting Amish motorcycle jackets, Lord knows she probably would've fainted. I think she was going to plant pansies when she got home because she kept promising her gay gods she'd plant something special for them. It takes all kinds to make a world, I guess."
