The hell of it is that he said it on his personal twitter account. Not the Official Opie and Anthony twitter feed...he didn't say this on the air.
It was his personal thoughts on his personal social media account. If he can be fired for that...I suggest ALL of us need to scrub things tom our social media feeds before our bosses take a look at them.
I also kind of find it a bit hypocritical of Sirius/XM to talk about standards consider the conversations and language used previously on the Playboy Channel on currently on the Vivid Channel.
Especially in a media market such as this apparently was (I've never tuned in Sirius/XM, so I don't know these guys from Adam) personal account may not matter.
Many years ago, in between jobs, I moonlighted as a forklift operator at a bottling/distributorship. These guys were the ones the convenience stores go to for PBR, Dos Equis, Rolling Rock, MGD and the like. Anyway, during one of the sports seasons (I think it was during an NCAA basketball tournament or something) the local news station went to a favored watering hole in town, to get crowd reaction shots, and one of the guys I worked with was there, watching the game on the big screen, and downing a brew or two at the bar. Well, just about as fast as the TV station's 6-second delay could transmit the video to air, the guy's cell phone went off - right on camera. It was our boss, and he was watching the news feed from the bar, where this guy had been wearing his ball cap with the distributor's name and logo on it, but he was
drinking a Budweiser (competitor's brand). The boss fired him right there over the cell phone, with the news camera recording it all for the viewing pleasure of God knows how many.
This "Opie & Anthony" thing sounds like a similar deal, to me.
