Riding in the rain!
« on: June 28, 2014, 09:25:08 AM »
So...

This morning, I am supposed to go over to Salina for a benefit ride. The Salina Military Council is sponsoring a poker run for the Wounded Warrior Project. The ride draws 200-300 bikes each year.

My bike is all ready to go, I'm properly caffeinated, and checking the weather. We had a small thunderstorm about 4:00-5:00 AM, but the sun is out and the roads are drying nicely. I checked Accuweather, and found this:

The ride route is inside the orange rectangle. That big blob of yellow and red is coming toward Salina, and is guaran-damn-teed to dump a bucket of rain on us before noon.

I don't know what any of you would do, but I know what this Dog's gonna do.

This Dog's a-ridin'!   :yahoo:

See you all later!

If ya got a wind shield and faring no big deal. On a real motorcycle it gets tough!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Have a good time for a good cause.

I'll be riding in the rain on a fuzzy horse (as opposed to a steel horse).  No windshield, but my "personal weather diversion device" aka cowboy hat, will help a lot.

The rain let up about a half hour into the ride, and I was mostly dry by the end of the trail.

All in all, a very good day.

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
