Here's the thing... whether you are for abortion or against it, since when did the government or insurance companies pay for them? Everyone I ever knew of who had one (in college) had to scramble to find the money.
Last time I checked the cost of an abortion was very close to a years supply of the pill. My insurance will cover tube tying, an IUD, and those do-hickeys that are placed under the skin for slow release and last 5 years.
I have met , really, woman that brag they have taken their 15 year old daughters down to get the do-hickeys implanted in their daughters arms. Not a bad idea really when one sees the young girls with all the face piercings and tattoos.
Next step is a shot to prevent STD's for both male and female. Then on to the never never land of male contraception. When science can come up with a pill to allow males to get it on, there has to be a pill to ensure the act will not result in a pregnancy with the wrong person.
