That mother who killed her three children
Three years, sixteen months and two months - postpartum depression anyone?
You must be in a very bad place to slaughter three little girls with a knife.

<snip>
Neighbor Ashley Madrid told the Daily Breeze that the children's father was working on his car across the street when his mother-in-law discovered her daughter and the three children in a pool of blood on a bed.
"I saw when they were bringing him out," Madrid said. "He was crying. He was crying, 'She killed my daughters!'"
Madrid said she was told the mother had a kitchen knife in her hand and was trying to cut her wrists.
Sheriff's deputies took the mother, who was naked except for a blanket, to a patrol car and she was then placed in an ambulance, Madrid said.
"She was full of blood on her face and arms," Madrid said.
Madrid said the children's grandmother told her that the woman had called earlier in the day and said that she was going crazy.

4. Good question
On neighbor said that all he wanted was a cooked meal after work. Imagine dealing with basic housekeeping for three kids three and under - cooking, washing, cleaning, tidying - and then cooking dinner before 'tired' hubby comes home.
There are many hubbies who would come home and help with the cooking -it's not as if she was sleeping all day - she too was working all day.
Birth control may have saved this family

6. So a woman dices up her 3 kids and you try to blame the father?

8. Where did I blame the father
The woman appears to have been suffering from post-partum depression.
The neighbor said her husband said all he wanted was a cooked meal and I pointed out that she was working full time as well.
The woman told her mother she was losing it.

12. You said "good question"
The other poster said they wondered what role the father played. And you said "good question."
You and the other poster are suggesting the husband played a role in the mother's psychosis.
Vagina privilege.
At DU, when you have a vagina you don't have to worry about things like taking responsibility for butchering 3 children.
It makes up for that 23%-less-pay thingy.

9. Yeah, I wonder how my grandmother did it...
She had SIX kids and had to feed all of them a coal miner's salary, so she cooked A LOT. My grandfather was a lazy bastard. He only got up at 3 AM and went down into the bowels of Hell and swung a pick and shovel 10 hours a day in that godforsaken coal mine. He came out 43 years later on a stretcher.
Lazy men...lazy, lazy, men...

15. There is no lazy coalminer on the planet
I don't know how women with lots of children coped back in the day.
I know little about postpartum depression so I don't know what contributes to it.
You don't know but by God's long ears you leapt at it as a way to excuse the murder of 3 children.
Die in ditch on fire.

18. you are right
And you have no idea how hard this womans husband worked, so how about we stop saying what her husband could have done ? Please?

13. If he was mentally ill
and reached out for help and she didn't help him, and insisted he continued to do his job, and then left all 3 kids with him? ****in' rights I would.
Lying scrunt.
All you people do is protect your favored classes. You do nothing else.
Go ahead, survey every post at DU discussing a man committing a heinous act. In NONE of them will anyone suggest, "I wonder if his mate could have intervened?"
