No insurance? No problem.

A small but growing number of primary-care physicians has stopped taking insurance — and they may be radically reshaping how American families get their medicine.

“We’re running a business that’s profitable and caring for patients the way we’ve been trained to care for patients,” says Dr. Jonathon Izbiciki, owner of Izbicki Family Medicine in Erie, Pa. “We have our voices back, and we’re masters of our profession. There’s nothing better than that.”

If they keep obungacare, those doctors will be jerked into line quickly.

It looks like most of the bases are covered. I had a couple conversations with one of the doctors as he is a friend of a friend.

The network is growing across the nation, I just need to talk one of my local doctors into joining.

We got a letter from a local physician who is going this route.

Not sure how it works.  Probably have to pay him X amount of dollars a year to hold him on retainer.  He also makes house calls.  :-)

Atlas MD works this way: Pay $50 a month for primary care and house calls. You can use HSA or FSA to pay the monthly fee.

$50 a month doesn't cover hospitalizations or tests like MRI's, does it? I wish them luck with their plan. It's better for them than working for free with all the newly insured Medicaid folks.

No, the $50 per month is for primary care only.  The Atlas MD website says:

As a patient of Atlas MD, will I still need health insurance?

Yes. We recommend that our clients continue to carry both a major medical plan and a health savings account, thereby ensuring financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary. We will be happy to refer you to insurance representatives who can help you customize an insurance plan to your specific needs.

I don't know if you can call it concierge, but there is at least one medical practice here that advertises they doesn't take insurance.  It's a low price general practitioner that is mostly RNs/LNs supervised by one or two MDs.  You can submit your invoice to your insurance for reimbursement, but their selling point is that they don't have the cost overhead of an in-network GP.

I have Medicare, Medicare Advantage and a VP plan that cost $125 per month. The VP plan allows me to get a same day appointment, can contact the doctor anytime even weekends and he will call in a RX. He will also meet me at the hospital in case of an emergency. It covers many tests. He schedules appointments 30 min. apart. So, it is not a 2 min. rush job like my dermatology appointment this pm.

In my case I would pay the monthly fee just knowing I could get in to be seen when I needed to be seen. I would still keep my health insurance but Atlas would be better then sitting for hours at Urgent care or at my family doctor's office trying to be seen as a walk in. Just the other day I heard them telling patients the next available opening for their primary doctor was the end of July. So if you get sick, you either go to urgent care or you hope to be a walk in-which is something new they have started between the hours of 1 and 4 PM, first come first served. Some days you show up and they have a sign "no walk ins today due to being short staffed"

If Atlas MD came to my town I would be the first to sign up and one of their marketing advocates.

You will see more of these over the next few years, but I have a feeling if the Dems have their way they will be harassed, sued, and shutdown.  I am really surprised the Dems didn't sneak in something that forces doctors to accept insurance.

When the communist DUmmies finally get total control, the political elite, a select few friends and the few remaining rich will get excellent healthcare. The rest of will get an ass-burn and a hardy hy-dee-hoo useless tool.

Yep, exactly as it was in the communist/socialist countries I have lived in.  These idiots have no idea, I have ranted about it before but as we know their little utopia is never a utopia.  I have lived in their famed socialist countries.  There is no middle class.  There is the government class and the poor.  There is a couple of middle class stragglers, but that is because they have to bribe and kiss the ass of the government officials to make any money.  And they bitch about police states???  That is the only way you can run a communist or socialist country you dip shits.
