If you don't like how it is now, change it. The people of Ukraine just overpowered a government and you're going to whine that corporatists and trolls "ruined" your website. Take control. Post what you want to read. Respond how you want people to respond to you. Be courteous and polite, even to people with whom you disagree. And instead of spending so much time arguing about who should be here and who should not or what is suitable for discussion, post discussions of importance and keep those bumped to the top.
 
Stop responding to fights that go nowhere and will never be resolved. Stop feeding the people who get off on having a flaming thread, no matter how stupid it is. This site is a reflection of the posters here. If you look around and don't like what you see, well... Be the solution.
