Unfortunately at DU, such bellyaching is actually encouraged. 

In the Hierarchy of Special Interests at the DUmp, The Poor rank the highest and elicit the greatest amount of sympathy, and therefore wield the greatest influence.  If any of the members there ever dared to question whether or not the bellyaching individual was entitled to bellyache because of her or his supposed poverty, there would be a pile on the likes of which you could never imagine.

About the best "shove it in your face" type posts you can do is to take what they're against and build it up to where they were the failures and not the thing itself.

Take, for instance, NAFTA. Signed by Clinton, so tough for them to say nasty things about Clinton or those who support him. So with NAFTA, you point out it was a good law passed by a great Democrat, and their were many good Dems, and indeed many good Americans, who benefited as a result. Those complaining are the ones who weren't savvy enough to know how to use the law in order to benefit themselves and others, and even if it hadn't passed, these type people would have found something else to be upset about anyway.

I do recall Pitt himself ripping into that nasty old homeless bag, who was living in her car. Can't remember her name. She hasn't posted in a very long time, so I suspect she must have slipped off to that Great Buick in the Sky.

It was Bobbolink.  Pitt was banned for a short time due to the PMs he sent her that she posted.  IIRC, there were threats of bodily harm, probably posted after consuming vast quantities of adult beverages.  He later begged his way back in.
