Yeah, but like a good democrat, did he vote ?

Like any good Democrat corpse, odds are near unity that he still does.

JFK was not opposed to civil rights. He gave a speech in July of 1963, in which he asked Congress to pass a civil rights bill. He had support from congressional Republicans, and opposition from his fellow Democrats. A Democrat stalled the bill in the House.

Pretty neat trick, with him being dead for almost a year.

He voted against the 1957 Civil Rights Act before being elected President. Like a typical Democrat he changed his tune once it became popular public opinion. How the Black American community forgot how they were treated by Democrats, northern and southern, from before the civil and well into the Civil Rights era baffles me. Of coarse liberals like to use the excuse that those Democrats switched to the Republican party, and the current Democrat party has no link to that history. Which to that I say. Just keep telling your self that. Not all of them have retired or kicked the bucket yet, and are influential in the party.

Edit Opps had my history wrong.:-[ Which embarrassing considering the amount of documentaries I watch, and my ability to ace almost every history test with little or no studying when in high school.
