I want to point out that there is a political implication to the ban you may not be aware of. The reason that gun proponents have been so relentless in getting all discussion of guns out of GD is that they prefer the public be kept in the dark about the dangers of gun proliferation. (An irony that should be lost on no one is that they champion a ban on speech about guns while insisting a ban on any type of gun violates their rights). If I might, I would like to suggest you consider a narrowly tailored exemption accounting for gun policy (e.g. legislation and Stand Your Ground) and events of clear national importance, like Sandyhook and its anniversary.
