A small distinction there.  He said he spent a year in a "war zone".  A tiny bit of honesty creeping into his narrative in that he never actually served in combat.  You get the same thing with the Viet Nam "era" vets.

When it finally got to the point of actually "seeing, and firing upon", the opponent, the percentage was exceedingly small.
I have no clue as to accurate it was.  I just recall being surprised.

I know that. One of those 58k died beside me.
What percent of the 2.5M actually experienced, in your face, combat. It was small compared to the total serving at the time.
How many served state-side, and never went? They were lucky. I don't begrudge those people at all.
