Not a Bouncy Obamacare version
« on: October 29, 2013, 12:13:27 PM »
OK, so my Mom has Horizon Advantage, she's no longer going to have that, they're moving her to Horizon Medicare Blue Choice, she has to pay $20 more per month and her co-pays have increased.

Now my husband and I buy our own insurance, I spoke to my agent, we're going to be forced, yes forced, no choice involved at all onto Obamacare, now I was told permiums in NY and NJ will decrease with Obamacare because we've been over-regulated through the years, my insurance will go up 15-20% when I'm up for renewal, my deductible will stay the same, my co-pays will go up, but right now my deductible is $5,000 for the calendar year, after that my insurance pays 100%, under Obamacare? I'll only get 80% coverage after my deductible is met? My health insurance costs will now be only a couple of hundred dollars less then my mortgage.

My husband and I have always been responsible, we do without a lot ie material things, vacations etc. so tell me why we shouldn't just say screw it, pay the fine, put away what I'm paying now monthly so it would cover Dr. visits testing etc, maybe go on a nice vacation, buy some big screen tv's, a new car, and then if we have an emergency then we can sign up for healthcare? and if I can do that then why can't I just get car insurance only if I need it? and homeowners and fire insurance only if I need it?

Obama said you could keep your insurance if you want and your costs will go down $2,500 per year, so how does that explain the rates my Mom and other seniors are getting? and the rates my husband and I are getting?

Save away a million or so and self insure! sounds like you have similar spending habits to my family's.  We'd do that if worse comes to worse.

And that may be to your financial advantage. You gotta do what's best for your own family. I, for one, plan on making sure any increase I have to pay via healthcare will be that much I will reduce my Federal tax burden. As a business owner, there's all sorts of ways for me to report less income that has to be done carefully, but to me is worth the time and effort.

MiniTru is alive and well because the new evil democrat talking point is that people are getting better insurance and therefore are being forced to pay more. The truth is that Bronze and Silver plans are significantly worse in deductibles, what is covered (Brass=60/40 Silver=80/20) after deductible, and the co-pays are tripling.

BUT WAIT!!!

You now get coverage you do not need. Substance abuse rehabilitation, maternity leave, and eye and dental for kids you do not have. A good rule of thumb is to assume that whatever an evil democrat legislation is named it is the exact opposite.

Another little gem I just learned about is there is a 3.8% off the top Obama tax on the sales price of your house. Not net like capital gains, this off the sales price. People are really going to like that and it should make the housing market BOOM!!!!

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The fine is 1% of your income, then it goes to 2.5% after that.

How would that figure into what you would pay if you took Obamacare?

The fine would be nothing at all compared to what our new rates will be.

It won't last forever, but don't pay the fine.  Trim your withholdings back and don't collect a refund at tax time, they can't take it from you just yet.

This is the California shop and compare tool. (yellow calculator)  https://www.coveredca.com/

How do the two states compare?  Use any 90xxx number for the zip code.

Another little gem I just learned about is there is a 3.8% off the top Obama tax on the sales price of your house. Not net like capital gains, this off the sales price.

It's not the sales price; you only count the home sale profits over a certain exemption amount ($250,000 for singles, $500,000 for married couples).

So if a married couple bought a house for $100K back in 1960 and were able to sell it for $1,000,000, that's $900K capital gains. Because they're married, $500K is exempt, leaving $400K.

If their Adjusted Gross Income was $100K, they would have to pay up to 20% capital gains on the $400K, plus $11,400 (3.8% of $300,000, the amount of net investment income over the $100,000 AGI).

How it's figured is strange, but it's not 3.8% on the sale of every house.

I'm not sure if saw the DUmmy response to another DUmmy that was complaining about his rates going up, he told him to budget his money better. That is the attitude of the clowns in power now, those of us who work and provide for ourselves are expected to suck it up and learn to live with it. However if we told the 0bamaphone people to budget their money, that would be hate speech.

This country is so screwed.

That's what ticks me off, I go through circular after circular to look for sales when food shopping, I buy in bulk so I can go months and not have to buy a particular item, I buy off brands at Aldi's, we don't live beyond our means yet we're the ones who always get screwed.

Save away a million or so

o.O

That may take a month, or two....  :whatever:

Screwed you say Freeper, worse then we know.

Take people like us or our retired parents that do not have an MBA in education.   The Millions of citizens that have made it to a comfortable so far life style without even a high school education, or the disabled that have pulled themselves up by their boot straps, the ex GI's with a just a GED education, how the heck are any of us to understand the new laws when we are not allowed to read them before they are passed.

I have noticed that the kids with a College education can graduate with out the street smarts of a drop out from high school.    What are they teaching these kids, can they balance a check book, budget themselves or even understand a apartment rental contract ?

College is suppose to teach people how to think and explore ideas, High School is suppose to teach the skills needed to survive in what ever world and time it is.

Neither seems to be doing it's job, in come the corrupted and wire the kids minds as they see fit.

So who on earth can understand the new world, it's laws and the responsibilities it puts on the common man ?
