Feds to Furloughed Employees: Checking Gov't Email During Shutdown a 'Criminal Offense'
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/feds-furloughed-employees-checking-govt-email-during-shutdown-criminal-offense_759323.html

Quote
A notice posted on the website of the Small Business Administration (SBA) warns furloughed employees that it is a "criminal offense" to use federal resources during the furlough period, including accessing government email accounts. Although the notice is directed to SBA employees, presumably the directive is applicable to furloughed employees of all government agencies. The full notice reads as follows:

Please be advised, during the furlough period, non-excepted employees will no longer be permitted to utilize SBA email or other federal resources. Please know that use of federal resources while on furlough status is prohibited by law and is considered a criminal offense. Employees must NOT represent the agency in any formal or informal capacity.

But what about all those park rangers working to closing off the war memorials and the pvt. citizen housing and business's on federal property?
Shouldn't the same law apply to them?

There was a guy on FOX this morning who works down by the FL keys and said that the government has shut off about an 800 sq miles of the ocean to fishermen.  But, he said he had never seen so many federal employees down there enforcing it.

This is an Obama made dog and pony show to implement maximum pain on the public.

I know it is getting ridiculous...In the Ocala National Forest they have blocked off the entrances to the unmanned camp sites.

Not only were our civilians given that message...the civilians that have BlackBerry's were told to turn them off and put them away or face the same punishment.

There are federal laws regarding unauthorized access of computers that cover this I believe. I think it's covered by the DMCA that Clinton signed in 1998.
