Would someone please explain the date on this newspaper report to me?

If it hasn't been changed .. BY THE TIME SOMEBODY HERE "WAKES UP"! :hyper:

The date and time are copied and pasted exactly as the paper at the link wrote it!

That time is twenty nine minutes to midnight.

The shooting happened on Monday .. Somewhat close to nine AM.

Does the AP make mistakes like this very often?

It is a mistake .. right?

I think people were looking at the time in your quote box, not the dateline of Sunday, Sept 15, at 23:31.  That is very peculiar indeed.  

Modified to reflect the correct dateline date.  Thanks for catching that Dori!  No need to add to the confusion.
