They have little nerve to try and chase a dream and be happy. They want to be led, not lead.

They try to say they have the “American Spirit”, but let us face it; they are too scared of truly trying to live it. And when one is found trying to pursue happiness, they jumped them due to a mirror of their cowardness being help up to them.

The true problem with this country is the Conservatives. They are blocking any and all true progress with their old thinking. They cannot stand that people have grown, that time has shown such archaic thinking to be outright silly. So they are out to force us to stay in the “Dark Ages”.

Sad part is that we can lead these hardheads to water, but we cannot get them to drink. Instead we will have to leave them at the wayside.

People are/should be waking up to this and soon we will see the end to the silly/old thinking Conservatives/Tea Party/Republicans.

WTF are you babbling about? What the hell are conservatives doing to stop anyone from "chasing a dream"? How are we impinging on anyone's happiness or holding back progress?

People and groups are still free to associate, innovate, invent, discover, create, progress and pursue happiness at levels unknown before. Out of the massive field of scientific inquiry conservatives only have issues about a tiny few areas of debatable ethics. Scientists can still study. Entrepreneurs are free to build. Philosophers are free to opine. Democracy is still free to flourish, and if we lose that, it will be because we voted it away.

I've never seen a "progressive" yet whose idea of the be-all-end-all of "progress" didn't boil down to four selfish things:

1. Recreational drugs

2. Guilt-free sexual perversion

3. Abortion on demand

4. Grabbing a fist full of someone else's wealth

For all your bullshit lip service to better education, gun control, climate change, immigration reform, and blah-blah-blah, those are just means to an end, a way to coax unsuspecting people into supporting the basic agenda of get high, screw anything that moves, sever any responsibility for said screwing and have someone else pay for it all plus whatever else carries you through your wasted existence. If the Democrat Party got rid of rid of every plank in its platform except those items, not a single member of what you call its "base" would budge an inch. If a third party promised to wipe out the debt, balance the budget, cure cancer, solve climate change and create world peace, you still wouldn't move, so shallow and self-serving is what you call progress and the pursuit of ideals.

Hey LFDumb, I once moved to the southwest too among many other pioneering adventurers I've had. difference between you and I is I had a job and a plan BEFORE I went--had I not had the first of those two and a place to live I would NEVER have moved across the country. American Spirit? Old thinking? What old thinking is that? Self-reliance? Delaying gratification a bit so that one can go with some safety net of their own? Perhaps being a big more introspective as to what real issues might be instead of running away(you can never run away from yourself dear--lesson 1 in life). Common sense is now 'old thinking'? ****ing unreal...no wonder this country is circling the drain if this is the sum total of depth of thought out there.

I find liberal women do this a lot. They constantly talk about how independent they are while accepting handouts from their ex-husbands and actively shopping the new Mr. Sucker to keep them in that ole 'independent' spirit.  I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being a kept woman but I find conservative women far more honest about that situation instead of pretending they are something they are not. That's what kills me about liberals: their unwillingess in all things to see them how they really are--there is just something so inherently dishonest about liberals because of that constant visit to fantasy land.

Unlike you, I'm too afraid to leave my job, my family and friends to chase a dream of sleeping on the streets amongst strangers and criminals, a thousand miles from my home. I'm afraid of crawling into a sleeping bag with scorpions and pray that I wake up the next morning.  

If that's your idea of freedom, courage and the "American Spirit", thank God I missed that boat.

My idea of freedom is not depending on the handouts of others to survive, but to work hard to support myself, and be proud of myself for it.

To each his own I guess.

Honest people at least have twinges of uncomfortableness when they aren't consistent; that thing that makes them perhaps take a close look at themselves sometimes, but liberals can never seem to budge off of their fantasies of what they view themselves as, both as a group and as individuals. I swear if we brought asylums back and could house all of the loons, I'd get into medicine just to actively observe their 'conditions'. This particular facet of the liberal fascinates me--this...delusion..yes, continued delusion of what is real versus what isn't.

Good luck with the asylum idea-----They do still have them you know and working for or training in any of them scare the crap out of me.   This is a difficult job for if one isn't nuts themselves when they start the job, then in 6 months they will be as nutty as the patients.

Obama must have the best of the best behavioral scientists aboard his train running off the cliff.  One good example is the reason the internet is allowed to carry chat rooms, allows people to voice their anger, get it off their chests and settle down and not riot.

Society is a pressure cooker, there must be a vent for us to release the pressure.   

Unfortunately Obama has miss judged his sons and daughters, like spoiled brats that end up killing their parents for not giving them everything they desire, then plead for mercy from the court as they are now ORPHENDS.

IMO Bobbolink got younger stopped living in a car and became Amber a.k.a. Lady Freedom Returns...either way it's the same person.
