Anyone seen "The Happening"?

I'm thinking of going to see it this weekend.  Just want to know if it's worth going to the theater or just wait for the DVD.
I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

I, personally, haven't seen it. But I have not heard one good review yet from the people who have seen it. A lot of people say it is Shymalan's worst film so far.

I saw The Strangers a few weeks ago. Now that was effing scary.

That's what scares me.

I might have to go see The Strangers instead.

  • If I agree with you, then we'll both be wrong.

More than once I've heard it referred to as "The Crappening" if that says anything.  :lmao:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."

Rotten Tomatoes has it at 19% -- http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10007985-happening/

The reviews all say it is pretty bad.

I was checking out "Get Smart" yesterday on Fandango and all the (300+) comments for "The Happening" say its pretty terrible.

Shamalama-whatever his name is, appears to be a ywo trick pony who somehow manages to get paid to write/direct/ and act badly.

i think hollyweird is over.

Get Smart opinions fall into 2 predictable categories: Fans of the original show (pretty much everyone who ever saw it) who rightly think no one could be 86/99 except for Adams and Feldon, and youngsters who think Carrel is pretty funny and don't realize just how far this movie falls short.

I for one refuse to see it.  Having someone else play Maxwell Smart is like having someone else (not Peter Sellaes) play Inspector Clouseau - sacrilege.
