Reagan.com will not allow any government or other snooping into the content of your email messages, unlike Google and Yahoo. It was worth the $40 cost to try it. I like the setup so far.

Quote
“we the People tell the government what to do; it doesn’t tell us.”
– Ronald Reagan, January 11, 1989

If only! Folks, that is a declaration of victory from Reagan’s Farewell Address. By 1989, it was true. But it certainly wasn’t the case eight years earlier, when Reagan first took office and said:

• January 20, 1981: “it is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.”

• March 30, 1981: “we’ve gone astray from first principles. We’ve lost sight of the rule that individual freedom and ingenuity are at the very core of everything that we’ve accomplished. Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.”

• April 28, 1981: “The answer to a government that’s too big is to stop feeding its growth.”

Stop feeding government growth is precisely what Reagan did. Liberalism had delivered the same ruin under Carter that it has produced under Obama: a liberty-killing, metastasizing government bursting its Constitutional bounds – on a mission to control the people.

Reagan fought to reduce federal tax rates and regulations, thereby unleashing the gargantuan innovative energy of America. As he left office, the results were obvious – though liberals have lied about it ever since: the largest peacetime economic boom in American history and nearly 35 million more jobs, as Heritage reports. “There’s a clear cause-and-effect
here,” Reagan said on January 11, 1989: “As government expands, liberty contracts.”

America must instead, as we did under Reagan, expand liberty. it’s easy to grow discouraged about that, but don’t. As Reagan said on May 16, 1987:

“One of the worst mistakes anybody can make is to bet against Americans.”
