All I'm saying is when I hear a preacher walk down the political runway, I walk out the door.
There is a way to preach the Word of God without mixing politics into the discussion. I welcome a preacher who can do that.
JP, it is interesting what you're saying about black churches. I wasn't aware that politics was such a big part of a church like that. Based on your viewpoint, that would explain the number and political persuasion of most black voters, most of whom I'd characterize as "low information." As long as the candydate is black and as long as the preacher keeps on beating that drum, those LIVs will continue to pull the Dem handle.
And lest I sound like a bigot, I can well imagine that white churches operate the same way -- as long as the preachers beat that drum, that's what the congregation is likely to vote.
For one, I'd like politics to stay the hell out of church. It doesn't need to be there, it shouldn't be there, and the preacher -- if he's good -- can figure out a way to bring relevance to the congregation without resorting to spewing the same shit of the MSM.
