This is the America that has led to division and hatred and defiance toward any lurch toward progress.

It's the America that will openly celebrate a verdict in a trial of a murdered 17 year old boy. It's the America that will justify that murder because the kid might've smoked weed or thrown up the bird in a photo ... or worse, and most damning, was black in an area where blacks just weren't welcome.

Whether you feel Zimmerman deserved to be found guilty or not is irrelevant - a 17 year old boy is dead and celebrating the verdict as a 'victory' for something is truly astonishing. It's deplorable. It's disgusting. This whole ordeal is seedy and nasty and doesn't deserve cheers or pats on the back or smiles. A boy died. A boy was shot and killed. That boy did nothing wrong and even if he did, he did not deserve to die. He did not deserve to be shot and left for dead and unclaimed as a John Doe for three days.

He is a human being. He was a human being. Now, he's no more. So, while those people celebrate Zimmerman's freedom, they'll happily ignore the fact that Martin will never take another breath. He'll never experience another kiss or a hug from his mother. He'll never graduate or marry or provide his parents with grandchildren. He'll never get to experience a life. It was taken for him. The fact there are some celebrating that in our country today is proof positive how broken America is and how much fight we have left before this country even resembles anything remotely similar to the dreams of those who came before us.

This is the America Obama inherited. Is it a surprise it's been so resistant to change?

It is a victory worth cheering for because of the way you politicized what was otherwise a very tragic yet justified act of self-defense, and in doing so ruined the life of an innocent man, all to advance your political agenda. You never gave a damn about Trayvon Martin. If you cared at all about the deaths of young black men you would devote at least a little energy to the 93% of black murders that come at the hands of other blacks. No, it's the America Obama created. He pretended to be the "Great Unifier," but instead became the most intentionally divisive US president I've seen in my almost 30 years on this planet. He constantly tries, quite deliberately, to turn Americans against each other along political (Portraying conservatives as evil monsters and claiming that GOP donors are "Betting against America), economic (Relentlessly demonizing economically successful people), religious (He regularly kisses up to Muslims and gives various slaps in the face to Christians and Jews), and racial lines (His remarks on the Trayvon Martin case).

1. He was a drug addict (Numerous suspensions from school for drug possession, and the Skittles and iced tea he was walking home with were almost certainly going to be used as ingredients to make "Lean," a drug cocktail that Trayvon had a known fondness for which required candy like Skittles and soda or iced tea as some of its ingredients)
2. He was almost certainly a thief/ burglar (His last suspension from school was for possession of a backpack filled with women's jewelry that was almost certainly stolen, and a burglary tool)
3. He physically attacked a man with little to no real provocation and would likely have beaten him to death if Zimmerman hadn't shot him.
