Well, seriously, I'd give 'em a sizable chunk. It's more money than ya can spend after all. I don't see a dilemma at all. It's just polite. Sharing one's fortune is not new.

Lotto numbers are either random or a 'played' set.  Despite changing the order of two purchasers in the same line, other factors come into play that guarantee a variation.  

Playing the same numbers definitely does not put the person switched in an advantageous position ever.  If both players matched numbers, they share.

Very doubtful the "quick pick" random numbers would have been the same had the woman went ahead and bought hers first. It's like letting someone shoot dice ahead of you and saying the numbers would have been the same had you rolled first. I wouldn't feel any obligation to share.

Matter of fact, if she hadn't let the person ahead in line, probably neither of them would have won.

If you were smart enough to worry about moral dilemmas, you would not be buying lottery tickets in the first place.

The money is much better spent on a psychic hotline.

Same here EC. I don't play the lottery until it get's up there and I then I buy one ticket.  I think it's like a 1 in 138 million odds? My opinion you gonna hit it at those odds, you gonna hit it regardless of your place in line.

Someone did tell me you can pick your own numbers? If so, then it don't matter your place in line.

I think there is a book out about it, by some guy who has played and won several times.  He uses the same numbers over and over.  He says the odds are a lot  better.
