Here's my FB comment:
Your question, Hoelzle, is irrelevant. Period.
This holiday commemorates those who, despite their lives, their interests, their homes, and their families, answered the Nation's call. Those who answered that call and were cut down as a result are who we are honoring today.
Nobody likes war less than someone who has to go fight it.
In terms of "free speech," that entire issue is a non sequitur. This isn't about "speech." It's about service - selfless service. And those who deliberately went into harm's way, knowing that they could die and DID die. That's what today is about.
Forget your little rant about Iraq and the rest of your diatribe. When you stop and reflect on the people and less on politics, you just might "get it." Until then, rest on the very freedoms that are guaranteed to you. And if you think that islamofascism isn't a threat to those freedoms that you enjoy, you are delusional.
