So its the first official day of summer vacation...

Is it time for school to start again yet?  :-) :hammer:


Spent my weekend it seems at the ball field slowly melting in the heat.  I swear it was never that bad in Florida.  Two games Friday night, 2 games Saturday afternoon, after spending all morning at the dance studio.

One boy is now done with ball (unless he makes All-Stars....but with the politcis involved there I'm not holding my breath!).  Other on has 3 games this coming up week.

Dance every evening this week from 4- 9, with recital 3 days next weekend, then we are DONE DONE DONE!

I have an extra child here for a few days, because her mom can't get off work early enough to get her to dance, and she lives an hour away, so she's  just hanging out with us. 

Exciting times, I tell ya!!


So what's up with all you guys????

School is out so the Rotation of the Grandchildren has begun.  My oldest (15) has spent the last two nights with us.  He is no trouble at all.  More will come and go.  Some will need help in the babysitting department while their parents adjust their schedules to fit the summer. 

On the brighter side, I feel crappy healthwise.  I see dark at the end of the tunnel.  Maybe it is because my birthday is happening this week.  Would it be wrong to make a personal decision to become an alcoholic?

Oh Uncle Undies, it's not that bad. Birthdays come and go. Embrace it. Then go drink :-)

Last week of school here! Kiddo is heading to see all his grandparents and extended family this summer. I'll have some quiet time and then miss him 15 minutes later :-)

Sounds like you are getting closer to meeting the Lord....better stay sober.  :-)

I hope you start to feel better.....I always say "there is light at the end of the tunnel, I just can't see any of it yet".....maybe it's just one of those spiral bulbs that is burnt out?

I woke up sneezing, then I had to urinate.

Now I am on the computer.

Neighbor turns 73 today, I have a gift bag full of "heart happy" dark chocolate candy for him....he is a great guy, a veteran and always there to help anyone that needs it, on top of still working part time owning his own business. I am also going to ask him if he would like me to help detail his truck for his birthday....it's looking a little dusty....I had already fixed his windshield wipers a couple weeks ago....but with only .83 of rain so far this year....he has only needed them once since then.  We cook out at 5 PM.....

Is there a topic of the day?

No summer vacation for me, but I'd like to get my degree sooner than most here on this campus (BTW, I discovered a former American Idol finalist is attending my college... Stephanie Edwards.   They have billboards around town with her on it, advertising the school. :cheersmate: )

I'm still trying to find time for fun when I can, but it will all have to wait until the week after June 23.  My health issue is finally getting resolved, so I'll be gone a few days (procedure requires no incisions, so that's why recovery time will be fairly quick).

In August, I'm going to visit an old friend in another state (thank you, SkyMiles  :-) ), so my summer won't be all work.

Finished school this morning...ok, so I have one more class tnight, but its one of those not a big deal things you can't study for...final assessment thing. No big deal. So after a lovely Friday, working hard the rest of the weekend, I am now finishing a little bit of laundry and packing to head out to Florida either Wed or Thurs...We'll be there until classes start again for me--June 30. Woohoo!

Got a full summer planned after that too so I don't think I'll 'rest' until the first week in august when I'm going to Cedar Point and then start shopping for the kids for school which starts again on the 20th of Aug.  :cheersmate: Full summer means less fighting at home, so I'm good with it!

Anyway, everyone enjoy whatever you have planned and be safe.

Getting older usually beats the alternative.   :-)
