primitives dine on March 6th

Oh my.

Since I was away, I had to go back to check to see what the primitives had dined upon on March 6, franksolich's birthday.

<<<had anticipated eating Italianate dishes, but ended up with the usual hamburger well done, pressed down hard on the grill so as to squeeze out every drop of grease.

First up, dear old sweet Lu, who thinks her only job is to merely make an original post, and then walk away.

For lurking primitives who can't "search" this site, the issue's discussed here:

1. We haven't had quiche in a while

I have leeks and mushrooms. All I need is a piece of cheese.

2. Mac & cheese for our block's monthly pot luck dinner

Only I'm going to do it a little different. I'm going to add green onions. And for the topping I'm using panko breadcrumbs and smoky paprika.

3. Bean Burritoes....I'm using the leftovers from the Bean Tostados I made the other day

Husband is at work at tax land and they have a "mid-season" meeting tonight until 10:00, so I am on my own.

5. Rotelle pasta with broccoli, red pepper, yellow squash and Italian sausage.

Parmesan, garlic, a hot-pepper-flake kick and a splash of salty pasta water go without saying. This is my go-to dish whenever I can't be bothered to think what to make, but this is the first time I've had rotelle (wheels) pasta. Italians make basic dough so interesting and fun. I usually make this dish with "little ears".*

*obviously a reference to franksolich, but I'll let it pass.

7. Cheese fondue!

Started the bread last night and I've been saving the cheese.

8. Ha! You're one of the few people I know that does fondue and does it well.

9. Thanks! We have a house guest and a couple of other friends are coming over.

Hitting the table limit at 5 people, but should be fun.

I'll be right over

14. You are more than welcome, particularly since I just disinvited one of my guests,

10. One pot chicken and veggies roast. Rice.

I use a big cast iron skillet that holds everything, once they're cut to size. Really easy to top with spices and some broth. Set it and let it go.

Good day for for a roasted dish - we're having a steady rain here, cool with some heavy bands of rain and wind as the front moves across the area.

11. Coconut shrimp...

and I'm not sure what else. Probably some sort of rice dish and a salad. The coconut shrimp is especially coconut-y when fried in coconut oil. Mr. Pup will be a happy fellow tonight!

12. Baked Penne with Vegetables.

I substituted chick peas for the green peas.

15. going out to a Portuguese restaurant

First I'm going to hear Zeituni Onyango speak (Pres. Obama's aunt) and then we're going out for dinner at our favorite Portuguese restaurant.

I think I'll have chicken and shrimp.

17. I stopped at a Greek restaurant before going to the movies. I had a bowl of tomato soup with orzo and an order of pita with hummus. It was lovely.

The above's the whole campfire, but one's left wondering why the cbayer primitive disinvited a guest.

They may sink.

I was thinking maybe they had to toss the shower, the bed, the desk, and the kitchen counter overboard, to make room.

After reading what they are all eating, I figured out one reason why they are nuts.

They're all constipated.

Bullshit.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Daring.

These people and their lies are so damn boring.

I wish Dennis and his credit card would come back.
