We had one kid get hired and went through the training and got his uniforms to work in. Reports to the gate where i am at about 4pm to start training and 20 minutes after i left he decides that watching dump trucks go in and out and standing in the not so hot sun as I had to deal with was to much.  By the time I had gotten home and changed clothes and i went with mom and dad to eat a nice steak I get a call to go back to relive our new hire because he had quit. So I go back there and hear the news of what happened and spend another 6 hours at work and have to be there again at 6am. I got maybe 4-5 hours of sleep that night and spent anoher 12 hours at work. Some peoples kids I swear.
Diagram those sentences.

They are such babies.  They wouldn't realize the way to success if it bit 'em in the ass.

I got a summer job at Arbys in college.  I didn't like it at all, but I stayed until I secured employment somewhere else.  My brother sandblasted big storage drums  one summer in Texas. Hot as hell and dirty work.   He also loaded appliances on a loading dock during college. He didn't like either one, but did them until he got other jobs that he liked better.

Me too. I worked a lot of crappy jobs back in the day. Most for min wage too. Then I went to school at nite. I've worked in a kitchen where it would get 120 in the summer. I've worked pulling cable in 10 degree temps.

I was glad to have every job I ever had even though I hated most of them. Those jobs paid for my school. Now I don't have to do that. Everytime I went to work in cold/hot temps, it made me work harder in school cause I damned sure did not want to do that for the rest of my life.

The only job I ever totally failed at was selling insurance for the Foresters. After two weeks I earned nothing. I am not good at 'cold-calling' at all.

But even so, I stuck it out for two weeks.

I did that for a spell too. First thing they did was to ask me how many suits, top coats and such did I own. I had that job right before I worked for a collection agency.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I still occasionally think about that damned 'I made a sales appointment' bell. There was one person with me who I swear rang that bell every five minutes.

I never had a problem lasting on the job.   I walked off one job after a year because the new manager wanted things done his way.  I had been the guy that they cut loose in the second shift to make sure the shelves were stocked and the bathrooms were cleaned and they didn't have to follow me.  Then that one was hired on and decided to follow me around and give criticism that wasn't instructive.

I had another job fifteen minutes later.

Now, my business has it's first two contracts complete.  I'm scratching to find some more work now.
