NKorea vows to cancel Korean War cease-fire

The sanctions must be biting--hard.  Either that, or Kim Jong Un must want Dennis Rodman back.

NKorea vows to cancel Korean War cease-fire

Mar 5, 7:04 AM (ET)

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North Korea vowed Tuesday to cancel the 1953 cease-fire that ended the Korean War, citing a U.S.-led push for punishing U.N. sanctions over its recent nuclear test and ongoing U.S.-South Korean joint military drills.

North Korea's Korean People's Army Supreme Command warned of stronger additional countermeasures in a statement that came amid reports that Washington and North Korean ally Beijing have approved a draft of punishing sanctions for a U.N. Security Council resolution responding to North Korea's Feb. 12 nuclear test. The draft is expected to be circulated at the U.N. this week.

The United States and others worry that North Korea's third nuclear test pushes it a step closer toward its goal of having nuclear-armed missiles that can reach America, and condemn its rocket launches and nuclear tests as a dangerous threat to regional security.

Problem is for the Norks, is that now they think most Americans are freakshow wannabe losers like Rodman.

They'll be very surprised.

You sure about that?

If it has to go through the Security Council, I doubt there is much chance of actual UN sanctions being imposed.

China will no doubt veto any such resolution or outright sanctions.

Yup--Odumbo is the exception to American exceptionalism.

The one problem with that is that he's the one giving the orders to the ones who would be first in line to (re-)school the norks in American exceptionalism. If he had his way, these exceptional Americans would "stand down" like other exceptional Americans were ordered to during the Bengazi ****-up. (I believe that most of those exceptional Americans would also demonstrate their exceptionalism the moment they determined their commands were in imminent danger - orders be damned - but that's an awful lot of momentum to allow an enemy to build up before you respond.  Even the most exceptional can be steam-rollered under by that kind of momentum, as we saw in Bengazi.)

US and China agree on North Korea sanctions after nuclear test

Interesting. Thanks for posting that link.  :cheersmate:

I still believe - firmly - that the U.N. is a DUmbass, corrupt, and ineffective organization. But evidently we still want to believe that it's a viable answer to problems.  :whatever:

A fourth round of sanctions.  :lmao:  What kind of punishment could the world impose on the Norks that it hasn't already? Put young Kim Jong Un on a diet and force him to do PT?

Obama ignores the UN when it suits his purpose of providing arms to the Muslim terrorists.

Bingo, and H5.

The US has used the UN for our own purposes for a very long time. The only problem with that is the credibility that that puts on the criminals that run the f'n thing.
