I don't know how to put Flash Player vids on the site, so you'll have to go to the Russia Today site to see it.  My wife just pointed out--didn't the Russians and Iranians sign some sort of alliance yesterday?  Maybe this is a sign from Someone, of Their Feelings in the matter . . .

Russia’s Urals region has been rocked by a meteorite explosion in the stratosphere. The impact wave damaged several buildings, and blew out thousands of windows amid frigid winter weather. Hundreds are seeking medical attention for minor injuries.

Follow RT's LIVE UPDATES.

Eyewitness accounts of the meteorite phenomenon, handpicked by RT.

According to unconfirmed reports, the meteorite was intercepted by an air defense unit at the Urzhumka settlement near Chelyabinsk. A missile salvo blew the meteorite to pieces at an altitude of 20 kilometers, local newspaper Znak reports quoting a source in the military.

Regnum news agency quoted a military source who claimed that the vapor condensation trail of the meteorite speaks to the fact that the meteorite was intercepted by air defenses.

A bright flash was seen in the Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Sverdlovsk regions, Russia’s Republic of Bashkiria and in northern Kazakhstan.

“As of 13:00 Moscow time, 500 people have sought medical attention [in the disaster area], 22 of whom have been hospitalized,” Vladimir Stepanov, head of Russian national crisis management center EMERCOM told Vesti 24 news channel. Among the injured there are 84 children, Emergency ministry reported.

Riiiight!  Is it just a coincidence of timing with the asteroid that was supposed to pass inside the satellite belt?

Global warming!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

That's 3 1/2 hours away (from happening), as I type this.

yeah we are supposed to believe that the same country that couldn't hit an SR-71 at anytime during the service life of the aircraft can now shoot down a meteor that is flying higher and faster then anything ever built by mankind. That is something El Guapo would come up with.

There are a lot of conspiracy stories about it now.  One Russian military guy blamed it on us as testing secret weapons.

Except for the fact that the Marxist in Chief wouldn't do anything like unto it without direct, express orders transmitted from Vladimir, the guy in the Russian military could be having a blind squirrel/nut moment...
