How Do We Present America With A Conservative Philosophy?
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:56:28 AM »
80 + years of Socialism - crypto, creeping, and otherwise - plus at least 60 years of kulcheral idiocy beginning with the Beat Generation and later crystallized by the 1960's, have turned at least a large part of America into plump, tattooed, drugged out, videoized, aliterate, and unemployable Gullivers towed around by the Lilliputians of Leftism.

To free these Gullivers, we need to prove to them that they are 1. rather enslaved by their own desires and by the government apparatus feeding those desires and 2. doomed to be further enslaved in a mediocre life as time passes.

Whether or not they believe it or will want to believe it is something else. And to prove that Conservatism is the way to lead a winning life, we need to deliver that message!!!

Daniel Henninger
in today's (January 17th) Wall Street Journal has an editorial about the need to have a spokesman - NOT a politician or at least not someone currently in office - voicing Conservative Republican positions and philosophy.

An excerpt:

"Where is the Big Picture? Why is it not possible for John Boehner or
anyone else in this party to articulate for the dumbstruck public
watching these dreadful cliff negotiations what the Republican Party
stands for? Who speaks for the GOP?

No end of people keep saying of the Republicans that "they" should do
this or "they" should do that. Who's "they"? It is no one. With the
Republicans, there's no "they" there.

Barack Obama is controlling the cliff
narrative now because the GOP has no one whose job is counter-narrative.
Mr. Obama this week was recycling campaign speeches about the middle
class at the Daimler Detroit diesel plant while the GOP has been a Babel
of Beltway voices. Don't any of these senators go to church on Sunday
morning, rather than running around television punching the "entitlement
crisis" card?"

It has to be done by example.

Economy? Look at Texas.

Or sometimes a negative example...gun laws? Look at Chitcago.

But they have to be publicized.

And that is the point: here in Ohio within one year of taking Governor John Kasich erased an $8 Billion deficit without raising taxes, and a surplus is actually now in place!  Unemployment is not great, but is in the 6% range.

How many people even here in Ohio know about this?  I know it because the Wall Street Journal has cataloged his accomplishments since 2010.   But I am betting that a majority of Ohioans have no idea about this achievement, because the MSM is too busy NOT reporting it, and the Republicans here are mute.

So again, a major point of Conservative philosophy is proven by practice....but who knows about it?

And the exact opposite has happened in Illinois .  Taxes were raised, but the debt grew anyway and unemployment numbers basically stayed the same.

You pretty much answered you own questions.  No matter what we do, the media will either lie or simply not report it.  Unless the casual news observer is made aware of what's actually going on, nothing will change.  These people learn a revised and seriously skewed version of history in school, so arguing with historical fact is difficult, at best.  They have to unlearn by being re-taught with documented fact.  It can be done, but it's hit or miss depending on the receptiveness and the intellectual honesty of the individual.

Yes.  Wisconsin, Ohio, Texas..... all successes of fiscal conservatism.  You tell people this and you get the ...whuuuuut?  look.  And most of these people will attribute it to the policies of the Lord High Lightbringer...... :banghead:

Just have to keep banging away with fact until they get an up-close and personal example they cannot ignore.  Think about it:  A great many of these people have little or no living memory of the Soviet Union.  What they know they know from...

that's right....the indoctrination facilities.

It's going to take a painful smack to the head.

And the exact opposite has happened in Illinois .  Taxes were raised, but the debt grew anyway and unemployment numbers basically stayed the same.

Pfffttt...don't I know it.  This state sucks on ice.

Quite true: my own brother-in-law, a 50-something mechanic in a small town, did nothing but complain about BIG BRObama.

Did he bother to register and vote against the wannabe emperor?  Why no, and he used the hoary excuse of "I'll get called for jury duty!"    ::)

Now that his paycheck is significantly smaller, we shall see if that hard, cold, "up-close and personal" fact will awaken his energy in 2014!

On another website someone commented that we all need to convince one fence-sitter (like my brother-in-law) to vote against the Dems and things will change.  True, but that can take some doing also!

There are also a large portion of conservatives that wouldn't consider Gov Kasich's accomplishments in Ohio conservative because of the social concerns of his conservative philosophy.

IMHO the conservative movement started to loose ground when they ceded the social impact of/on society to the liberal crowd.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

What it boils down to is there are very few people with balls to stand up for what's right.

Those who do, the Michelle Bachmans and Ted Nugents of the world, are castigated, ridiculed, and perceived as out of touch.

As for how to dig that cancer that is progressivism out of the heart that is America, it has to go what the MSM would call "the extreme right".

Like marv said, it has to be done by example.

Here's the extreme part: (ready for the eye rolling that will ensue):

It starts with the Conservative men acting like MEN. Not man-children, not grown up boys, but MEN. We have to get back to the classical definition of what a man is. Pre-feminazi movement manliness.

Get back to Virtus. In all aspects of our lives.

I'm going to sound like a broken record but I see this as the problem with the republican party;

They always want to "win the independents", well Romney did "win the independents" but lost the election.

I agree with Krauthammer, Romney (and for that matter most republican leaders) could not "speak conservative".

When Reagan ran, I worked in a union shop where most liked Reagan's stands on the issues. Yeah they said "if only he wasn't against unions", but I know many of them voted for Reagan.

Conservative positions are solid positions that people do react positively. The republicans need to stop trying to "only win the independents".

Where is that person who can "speak conservative values" ?   Whoever it is they must be ready to get hit with arrows and return same.  They must believe it in their heart. And other conservatives need to stand beside them to re-enforce conservative values.

It is my belief that conservatives are a minority in the republican party even though most republicans claim to be conservative.  Look at the real conservatives in the party and you will see them getting stabbed in the back by other republicans and that is why I believe if the current leaders do not step aside, the republican party is finished.

BTW: I became a member of the Constitution party because of the idiocy of "trying to win the independents".

Many thanks for the comments above!

Here's the extreme part: (ready for the eye rolling that will ensue):

Get back to Virtus. In all aspects of our lives.

Good for you!

I was remarking recently to my wife about the effeminate or adolescent look of many 20-30-and-40-something males these days.  The quest for youthfulness has resulted in a Peter-Pan society of eternal boys, capable of procreating but not capable of fathering, capable of swaggering but not capable of being a Man, capable of inventing excuses and blaming others for failure but not capable of accepting responsibility.

Look at MAObama: how precisely does he symbolize American masculinity?  A lying, simpering coward, a wannabe Man of the worst sort.  He is precisely part of the problem, a living symbol of boys who have no real father during the crucial developmental years of childhood and adolescence.

This is an article I just ran across on another forum.

It's a serious problem that needs to be rectified.
