I have often thought lately that if a good opportunity came along, I would leave without regret.

You're ancestors came over here with nothing more than a dream in their eye and a prayer in their heart.  Oppurtunity comes to those who want it.

We can't seem to get anything done anymore in this country, it's the counter-revolutionaries fault we still don't have universal health care Because universal health care would enable us to kill the counter-revolutionaries more quietly, our educational system is nothing but a political football The counter-revolutionaries demand teaching of hard facts, privacy is a quaint concept We post name and addresses of possible counter-revolutionaries and are upset when they do it to us., our infrastructure is crumbling The proles are noticing that we embezzled that money. , there are guns everywhere Which stops our fantasies of complete control, our politicians are for the most part clowns they are hesitant to start the purges, we spend far too much money on the military because they military may interfere with our revolutionairy aims , and Larry the Cable Guy is what passes for entertainment How dare he show that a man with a dream and hard work can succeed.

Red in the above to express the DUmmies' true thoughts on the matters.

1. Actually, my dear Brigid, I would not. Why?

My husband and I are too old, we no longer work, and most countries don't want people like us.

Our families are here, our children and grandchildren.

We built our home, and we don't want to live anywhere else.

Those are our reasons.

I do hear ya, though. Some days, I wish we could...

It isn't that you are too old.  It's that they have copies of your poetry and it was so bad it got you placed on the watch list.

I've loved when visiting
but their cannabis laws are worse than ours.

Imagine that.  Australia has no use for marijuana fume sucking DUmmies.

Culture, food, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE.

This doesn't mean that I love my country any less, however the ass hats in congress are intent on screwing us left and right. Big business is running the country, not elected officials.

NATIONAL HEALTHCARE.  So does Mexico.  Mexico is much closer DUmmie.

49. I've thought of going to the UK but there's no privacy there either plus the class thing is still

going on.

You mean people who don't want to work will always be jealous of those who have money because they do work?

There are a good number of DUmmies that say they wouldn't.

For myself, yes but not because of politics necessarily, but for a challenge.  Working with people with varied cultures and backgrounds towards a common goal is something I found enjoyable.  The DUmmies leaving for culture, or healthcare, or because our politicians are clowns sure would be in for a surprise.  Also the road I left on would be the road home.

DUmbass Brigid is closer than she realises but not for the reason she thinks. Roman politicians devised a plan in 140 B.C. to win the votes of these new citizens: giving out cheap food and entertainment, "bread and circuses", would be the most effective way to rise to power. I believe the Obama administration, along with Hollywood, are doing the same thing. The governement is providing the "bread" with out of control entitlements and Hollywood the "circuses" with shows such as "Dancing With The Stars", "Honey Boo Boo" and others.

Quote from: Roman satirist and poet Juvenal (circa 100 A.D.)
Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses.

I don't know about you but that sure sounds familiar these days in America (to me anyway).

He reminds me of Roman emperors too, just not any of the good ones.  Virtually all of the good ones were also successful military leaders, while Obama spent his younger days in the prolonged childhood of a dissipated collegiate life instead of learning the lessons of hardship, which explains much about his inane economic views.

Must we inflate them?  They won't know the difference for the first 3-4 minutes.

I am moving where John Gault moves
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Their guy won reelection, entitlements are up, taxes are up, the 2nd Amendment is about to be circumvented, and little miss pissy pants wants to leave?

Wait, maybe she is upset about not getting a "living wage".

Of course this was after he systematically cut them out of the decision making loop.  He ruled through Imperial edicts when they Senate wouldn't act.  Before long they were just a galactic debating society that had tickets to all the good operas on Coruscant.  Not that they really minded, it just let them tell the folks back home, "Hey, I don't necessarily agree but the emporer made that decision, not me."

He got rid of them when they were no longer needed as a fig leaf of respectability.

Which is my point. Our Congress isn't that far removed from becoming just like them.

Have the French become as vehemently anti-smoking as most of the DUmmies? The stereotype still lives in my head of the ennui-looking Frenchman chain smoking while sipping wine and listlessly arguing about art.

Neither group pays taxes, and both are a drain on health and education services, but illegal mexicans work and don't vote.
