This is dangerous

My local paper declared the person of the year for my locality a couple of Mercs who were killed in Bengazi.

If these two chaps were Marines no way that this would happen. So chew on this, they have named a couple men who died under contract, the persons of the year. If they did die a few years before as SEALs no such honor.

I am disgusted.

1. Yup. I have no respect for mercenaries.

They kill for money, not their country.

2. Is there a big difference between someone who joins the military for a pay check and a "mercenary"?

I think ol' Aneurin has the wrong idea about why one would join the military.

3. I'm torn on the merc issue. They are predominantly veterans, and too many of them haven't been able to get jobs. I hate that they, as you say, kill for money and not county, but maybe being in the service/war has somehow made that "okay" for them.

As always, I feel I can't really judge unless I'm walking in their shoes, but from my view, it's not all bad. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth, though.

4. Her is the problem with that.

If they still wanted to do what they are doing they could have stayed in the military.

Most of them do mercenary work for the paycheck and the lack of oversite. That makes them douchebags and they can GFO.

My two cents.

6. Yeah, I see your point, too -- but still gotta say until I'm faced with the decisions they are, I can't in my heart judge them all as douchebags. That's an individual honor everyone has to earn for him/herself. Not that my judgment matters either way, really.

8. What a lot of people don't understand is we have two separate economies in this country.

Those in other economy that most of us don't live in, are paid well for what they do while robbing us. Thus they vote for the robbers of the rest of us. They do have a sense of community among themselves and their comrades and benefactors, are not stupid, poor or ill-informed. They know exactly what they are working daily to create here.

Hmmmmm...let's see...I took my skills and experience learned in the military and applied them to a civilian career as well.

So does that make me a mercenary as well?  By your logic it does, DUmmies.

Mercenaries?  They were being paid to provide security dumbasses.  It just happened that the CIA had a more realistic view of what dangers existed than others at the State Department and acted accordingly.  They were heroes because they decided it was important to try to rescue people that President Obama abandoned.

1. Where is it written that every guard at an embassy has to be uniformed military?

Maybe the host country would prefer we make a smaller footprint.

2. If you are going to have non-military security then the best people to have are ex-military.

3. SEALs killed on duty aren't recognized because most times what got them killed is classified.

4. They were working for the State Department with a SD mission. That's hardly a pay-em-and-turn-em-loose mercenary operation.

Me thinks Nads has just insulted a good portion of our country.

Town and State Police, Non military but hired by the State and towns to keep the peace. Mercenaries, depends on how it is looked at.

Those that work security at Stores, Malls and Banks. Mercenaries depending on how one looks at it.

The President of the US that hires security for his and family's including the Dog BO.

Private industry's that guard our work places, schools, and 99% of Hollywood with their private guards, the private guards that watch out for our law makers and darn she also insulted every home owner that buys a gun to defend themselves.

Paid not in money but in the enjoyment of living long enough to watch their children grow up.   Worth more then GOLD.

Me thinks Nads has gone round the bend on this one.

Makes me wonder if Nads has children and how she would feel if the school bus they rode had a monitor aboard to keep them safe ????  Not armed but being paid to keep the kids safe ?? Is this not the same thing taken down 200 pegs ???

Mercenary --Paid to protect the employer from harm, his business or country, family or the sheep in the field.

Just a Job Nads, just a Job.

Those two "mercs" died trying to protect our Ambassador.  They died from lack of fire support  because your boy king couldn't be bothered to fulfill his oath of office.  Had he cared more about the citizens of his own country than his campaign fundraisers/TV appearances, then your delicate sensibilities would not have been offended with the San Diego Union Tribune's tribute to two men who put themselves last in their attempt to prevent the murder and desecration of yet another American in a foreign country.  They died with honor while your president still fouls the people's house.

Chew on that, you greasy, DUmmie beach ball.

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

Why did Navy Seals and Marines, who died to protect their country, not merit the same honor as mercenaries who died for a large paycheck?

Marines and SEALS are scum, since they are public employees. The same person working for the private sector has pulled himself by bootstraps, randian hero and all.

I wonder what some SEAL's and some Marines would say to the bald headed dwarf for those comments she made? No one in the military are public employees. They are Federal Government Military personel. If they were employees they could walk off the job anytime they wanted to and they are paid by the Federal Government. not some local tax base from the city, county or State. Also they are not scum you fat obnoxious retard with delusions of self importance.
