Texas Woman Forced To Cover Up ‘Vote The Bible’ Shirt In Order To Cast Ballot

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas

A Texas woman claims that a polling place forced her to cover up her “Vote the Bible” shirt she was wearing or she would not be allowed to vote.

Maybe we need those UN observers to protect Christians instead of minorities?

Quote
Williamson County officials say Hill’s shirt violated electioneering laws.

“Electioneering or loitering within 100 feet of the entrance to the polling place or inside the polling place is not allowed,” Connie Watson, public affairs director for Williamson County, told KTBC. “Electioneering would cover wearing a hat, a pen, a T-shirt or a sign that would indicate a position for a political party, candidate or a proposition.”

Saenz disagrees that Hill violated any sort of electioneering law.

“Electioneering only prohibits supporting or opposing a candidate, measure or political party,” Saenz told the Austin American-Statesman. “The Bible is not candidate or a ballot measure.”

It is amazing to me.  Any mention of decency, normality, humanity, or liberty is perceived as a threat to the democrat party and an open advertisement for the conservative/republican ideology.

Sorry, but we have very strict laws against electioneering in our polling places in TX.  Polling places are for voting period and, any exceptions would quickly spiral out of hand.  If you allow a shirt in the polling place, why not a sign or, better yet, a bullhorn.

I'm in agreement with Bad Dog on this one. ANY instruction on who someone votes for, even as nebulous as "vote the Bible", could be interpreted as electioneering. That being said, how many voters are allowed to walk in wearing Obama shirts?

If "Vote the Bible" is actually construed as electioneering, I think that says far more about the Democratic party than almost anything else.

I don't think a "Vote The Bible" would be given a second thought beyond compliments at my polling place, A Baptist church fellowship hall.

The early vote turnout supposedly down by 10,000 votes in the area.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Doubt if a sprocket with an Obama shirt would be told he can not vote. You would have the local/national new media, the NAACP, greaseball Al and Jessie down there the next day.

So you live in a small town in Tenn. and the local Muslims from their temple arrive to vote.  Both men and women are in full traditional clothing.  Woman with the scarfs men with the colorful head coverings.   Along come some one with a shirt that says Vote the Bible.  Now what ???????

It is getting very complicated here.   So much so that a average person cannot understand.

In my precinct, the sprocket would be offered the opportunity to remove, reverse or cover the shirt.  If it refused it would be escorted from the precinct.  There are good reasons for electioneering laws, any other option would be kayos.  Down here we don't much give a s*** what the revs. and media think.

Too bad she wasn't a member of the NAACP,

Not only were they in the polling place wearing their NAACP tshirts and telling people to vote for 0bama, they were putting certain people at the front of the line.

What Bad Dog said.  No shirt that advocates any type of vote can be worn in a polling place.

Unless it's an 0bama shirt then you have to allow it. Otherwise it would be racist.  :-)

Because Texas clearly cares about if people think we are racist

So, why weren't the police called? This is an obvious case of electioneering. Even if she was told to stand down and the poll workers weren't going to do anything, the police would be obliged to respond to a complaint from a citizen.
