Today I was thinking about people and politics. With all of the news networks and the internet the people of America have the potential to be more politically knowledgable than anytime in history. So how is it we ended up with Bama and Biden in the charge?
I do understand that there is a bunch of misinformation out there, and that most of the news media is biased. The good thing is that, unlike in days past, the news media no longer really tries to hide their bias which should neutralize it to an extent, and in most cases the misinformation can be discerned without a whole lot of effort.
I also realize that some pulled the "D" lever because they didn't want to be accused of racism, but the voting booth is private. Who would know unless you told? And who is really racist in this situation? Is it me who voted against a person whose policies I felt would damage the country? Or is it the individual who voted for a man because of the color of his skin AND voted for the party that has fought to support slavery, that fought against civil rights, that has treated woman like a vagina and reproductive system, and that has constantly taught blacks that they are too pathetic to succeed without government intervention?
We talk about the lies that politicians tell, but I'm under the impression that there are many Americans who don't want to hear the truth. They want to hear what sounds good to them.
There is one political ad that has stuck with me for years. The as is Reagan's "It's morning again in America" ad. Today it's moUrning again in America. I just hope that after November it's morning again in America.
