Hubby and I went to see Argo tonight.....
We both thought it was a good movie. I think it's really sad that the American's couldn't take credit for all they did, including Pres. Carter.

At the end of the movie when everyone jumps up to leave, the credits were rolling and they started showing scenes from the movie the coincided with real life and everyone stopped dead in their tracks and total silence as they watched. I was quite impressed that they (the movie goers) did that. 6

When militants seize control of the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution, CIA agent Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) creates a fake Hollywood film production in order to rescue a group of American diplomats who have sought refuge at the home of the Canadian ambassador. As the six members of the embassy staff remain behind closed doors, armed militants conduct thorough searches of local homes, and kill anyone suspected of harboring the Americans

I'm pretty sure Affleck is a big Lib, but it is getting rave reviews.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

What is the DUmmie bitching about?  Carter got full credit for the Embassy debacle.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

Besides the hostages being held for 444 days, here's what else Carter can take credit for:

Sgt. John D. Harvey
Cpl. George N. Holmes
SSgt. Dewey L. Johnson
Maj. Richard F. Bakke
Maj. Harold L. Lewis
TSgt. Joel C. Mayo
Capt. Lyn D. McIntosh
Capt. Charles T. McMillan

These were the 8 military personnel that died in an attempt to rescue the hostages.  I blame Carter for having depleated the military to the point where they couldn't even properly cooridinate a mission, a helicopter and a plane having crashed in Iran.  Thank goodness one of the first things Reagan did was to refund the US military.

Because of Carter's weakness, we are where we are today.

"I don't think you can overstate the importance that the rise of Islamic fundamentalism will have to the rest of the world in the century ahead-especially if, as seems possible, its most fanatical elements get their hands on nuclear and chemical weapons and the means to deliver them against their enemies." --Ronald Reagan

Unlike the DUmmies, I base my movie choices on themes and characters, not the actor that plays the part.

I like George Clooney as an actor but wouldn't cross the street to piss on him if he were on fire.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

As he very well should have; that was a miserable failure, and the fault can be laid right where the buck stops.

I'm wondering too about something else.

Do they supersize theater seats now?

I'm not much of a movie goer. I'll watch 'em on DVD, but most Hollywood types I wouldn't give the time of day! I'm like you, I wouldn't piss on the degenerates if they were dyin' of thirst in Death Valley!

Anyone who puts an apostrophe in a plural immediately goes on my DUmbass list.

Her opinion of the movie is therefore worthless. She is too DUmb to have an opinion.

Guess who is smiling after the last four years?

Jimmy Carter is grinning big. He's Number TWO, he's NUMBER TWO!!!
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

It sounds like a good movie even if it is being used as agitprop for the disastrous Carter era the story should be told.

It is made by Affleck and I won't even Netflix that POS. Maybe if I see it at a garage sale years from now and costs less than a quarter.

Yeah, anything over $2 is beyond what he's worth.
